I think most of us will agree that Punni is a negative character - she is the bane of ARVI's very existence and their love. She is the one that instigated Ovi and is still prodding Ovi in the wrong direction.
Savita was the hurdle in the ARMAN relationship but Savi had/has shades of grey. She loves her grandchildren, was a good aaji, showed concern when Purvi was kidnapped, etc. She is not all totally evil, only negative towards Archana and even in that she has vacillated.
I think the same needs to be done for Punni's character. She is intelligent, pretty, and has had a loving home; she cannot be all black, there has to be some caramel, if not white, in her character too. The writers need to bring in a love story for her, despite her tendencies to "like" the rich, maybe show her falling for a poor "sanskari" ladka, sanskari as it is the very antithesis of what she believes in and sanskari also because the CVs love that characteristic! She can scorn him in the beginning for his sanskari-ness and simple life style but love him inspite of herself. it would be good to see some remorse in her, some human element.
I dislike the caricatures seen in the other soaps, all poison, all bad, it is not very realistic. So instead of a creating an evil monster like the commonplace villains of the other shows, I hope PR portrays a more true to life version of "evil" and paints Punni with shades of grey.
