why all devatas gave their weapons to devi for killing mahishasur...was she powerless?
no ...not at all...
each devata has his /her own weapon..which represents their shakthi...
most of the times asurs do penance and get boons and help from devatas only...
devi took weapons from all devatas...by doing this..it literally means she took away their powers to help...
so during the war...with mahishasur..inorder to prevent him from seeking help from devatas due to his previous penance..devi took away all the powers of devatas and fought with mahishasura
