Aah it feels great to finally finish one of my stories. Now I only have three to concentrate on 😆
Anyway, enjoy.
Within three days of her arrival, Ms. Feisty Gupta had managed to tweak a healthy number of his personality traits. He wondered how.
God, that woman!
===...===
"Sleeping on work Ms. Gupta?"
Another groomed voice, this time more jovial, made Khushi jerk her head up in the direction of the tone. Damn! And there was a crick in her neck now. Brilliant. This day had been exactly what she had needed.
Rubbing her nape slightly, she looked up into the eyes of a now-familiar Mr. Siddhant Raizada. He was grinning rakishly at her and his eyes were widened slightly.
An answering smile lifted her lips as she sat up straight. Despite the fact that a yawn the size of Asia made its way out of her mouth, Khushi shook her head in a negative manner.
He laughed that really comforting laugh of his, and she immediately felt herself relax. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that. You definitely weren't sleeping on the job."
This time she grinned and nodded. "You got that right. I never sleep on the job" Khushi added in a mock serious manner and pushed up her glasses to emulate an extremely prudish secretary.
Siddhant laughed once again and leaned towards her. His eyes twinkled as he curled his fingers around a stray coil of hair that had left its neat bun. The contact did nothing to her, merely tickled as his hand ghosted over her cheek.
He drew back and propped his frame against the printing trolley. "So how are you finding work Ms. Gupta?" his businesslike tone made her eyebrows rise in confusion, but soon Khushi recognized the humorous glint in his eye immediately.
"Why thank you for asking Mr. Raizada. Work has been great so far. But it would be better if you let me work, rather than be a distraction" she finished of primly, once again sliding the glasses up her nose.
Siddhant sighed and pushed himself away from the trolley and walked towards her desk. "I'm sorry Ms. Gupta. I didn't know I was a distraction." He bent down on the table and winked at her. Khushi laughed and swatted him on the chest, "you're incorrigible. You know that right?"
A boyish laugh erupted from him as well as he watched her get up from the chair.
She gathered her things and prepared to take notes. Apparently there were some darn important meetings today. AR's annual Fall Fashion Gala was coming up, and it was the talk of the town. As ASR's assistant, it was her job to make sure everything went smoothly.
"Yo Khushi!"
Khushi had almost entered her boss's room, and her hand lay poised to knock, when Siddhant's voice made her turn around.
"Yeah?" she shouted back, wondering what it was that he wanted to tell her.
"I'm only incorrigible where beautiful women like you are concerned"
With that outrageously flirty statement, he supplied her another one of those adorable winks and turned around to leave. "Later baby" Khushi heard him say as he left, and she slapped a hand to her mouth to stop a giggle.

Arnav's head lifted automatically as he felt her enter his cabin. There was no need for any visual evidence to ascertain that fact, but he'd come to realize in merely three days that he loved looking at a certain Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta.
And she never disappointed.
Today she wore a snug white dress shirt tucked loosely into her faded skinny jeans. She looked ravishing as always, but he only had one complaint. Those mile long legs weren't in point blank view anymore.
Sad.
"Ms. Gupta are the prints for the upcoming show ready?" his question came out silkily as he dropped his head to peer into the file upon his desk. There was a ruffle of papers, and within a few seconds, his efficient secretary spoke up.
"Yes sir. And I've also called up Ms. Kashyap. She said she'd be there at ten tomorrow morning"
"Great" he affirmed without looking up. "Ms. Gupta please ensure that all the invitations are delivered by seven this evening. It was a disaster last time.-"
Arnav stopped in the middle of his sentence to look up and peer into her gorgeous face. Her eyes were narrowed in concentration as she took in his words, and the diamond stud glimmered subtly in the muted lighting.
"I'm counting on you this time Ms. Gupta. Dont make me regret it." he steepled his fingers and bent forwards on his desk, taking in her arousing facial expressions as she nodded in confirmation.
"There's no need to worry sir. I promise that it will all be done well in time" Khushi smiled at him, and leaned forward to pick up his empty coffee cup.
Arnav explained in his usual concise manner, what he needed for the Gala to have. He stressed upon the fact that the arena should echo a feeling of sophistication and class.
"Excessiveness is often mistaken for originality. I wish to disprove that. And I need you to make the arrangements for it Ms. Gupta. Clear?"
He finished in a soft voice and raised his brown eyes to look into her hazel ones. They echoed the same smile that stretched her pink lips.
"Clear" she affirmed, and her smile widened as she left.
Arnav watched her derriere sway softly as she exited his cabin, and he released a soft sigh when she settled into her worktable.
What was it about this woman, he wondered, that made everything about him stand in attention? Not just his essentials, but his mind as well. He saw in her a brilliant apprentice and his intellect reacted to that. And of course, he took in her body and his other parts reacted to that.
This woman was such an...enigma.
How odd was it that a man considered an enigma by most, was contemplating to assign that word to his relatively expressive assistant.
And that was the part that didn't sit well with him.
Arnav observed Khushi as she typed away efficiently on the slim keyboard. Her eyes never left the screen, yet she made very few errors. There was a always a smile on her face, but why did it sometimes never reach those eyes?
His mind whirred as he debated different scenarios, and his ringing cell phone snapped him out of his thought process.
"Kya hua Di?" was the first thing that left his mouth. His sister usually didn't call him in the middle of the day. She said she hated to disturb him in the middle of his work, so why the sudden call?
"Arrey Chotte, relax! Kuch bhi nahi hua hai. Bas tumse ek aur favor maangna tha. Will you do it?" his elder sister asked in that soft motherly tone of hers. Obviously, Arnav knew that he would end up accepting whatever his sister said. So he agreed anyway.
An hour later, seated on his leather couch, Arnav decided that it hadn't been one of his wisest ideas.
His nephew sat on his desk and played with the multitude of papers decorating the glass top. Adit's chubby little hands grabbed at various things and experimented exactly like a three year old was expected to do.
With a careless swish, Arnav's most recent client's file went toppling onto the floor. And another followed, this one belonging to a depressed actress in Bollywood seeking comfort in other realms.
But his nephew seemed determined not to notice as he switched tactics. Now now longer concentrating on the heavy files, his gaze fell on the photo frame upon Arnav's desk. "Mamma!" he shouted and lunged at the poor object.
What his carefree nephew failed to realize-that his maamu thankfully did-was the three foot gap between two ends of the glass topped table.
"Oh bas Nawaab Sahaab. You'll hurt yourself"
In his warm voice, Arnav consoled Adit and carefully handed him the frame. "Yes, this is your mamma. Who loves to torture her younger brother."
His nephew turned in his arms and kept a tiny hand on Arnav's lightly stubbled cheek. He nodded silently, almost as if agreeing with his maamu's statement regarding his mother.
Arnav laughed at the expression on Adit's face and walked to head out of his room. Time for some food he thought.
But before he could reach for the knob, another person pulled it from the other side. His assistant stepped into the room coolly and turned around unseeingly to close the door.
When she twisted to face him, all he saw was her mouth stretch into a shapely "o", and her hazel lenses echoing the same emotion.
TADAA. Yay! Another update 😳
