Namaste. Everybody in the Modi family is busy planning activities to fulfill Baa's wishes. Recently Ahemji recreated a special moment from Baa's first wedding anniversary by taking her out for a motorbike ride. Both of us are glad that we could give Baa so much of joy.

Now that Navratri is finally here, we wish to make it all the more memorable for Baa. The festival is among my favourites since it presents us the opportunity to worship Goddess Durga in all her nine forms. It holds a special importance for all of us in the Modi family.

I'd like to share a few ideas with all of you so that you too can enjoy Navratri as much as we do. Rasgarba should ideally feature at the top of your to do list for Navratri. In Gujarat, people play traditional style of rasgarba. It is a pleasure to see men and women dressed in vibrant outfits dancing their hearts out to the rhythmic garba tunes. You should visit Vadodara, especially during Navratri in order to experience varied styles of the rasgarba dance form.

Fasting also plays an important role during Navratri. It can be a liberating experience if followed whole heartedly. I am certainly planning to do the same with Baa and Maaji.

Do plan a religious trip to Ambaji, Pavagadh and Bahuchraji as it will serve a visual treat to the eyes. These threeShakti Peethas come alive with celebrations during Navratri and each temple has an intriguing story to tell.

Navratri is an auspicious festival revering Shakti and hails Goddess Durga for slaying the evil Mahisasura. Keeping this in mind, I hope all of us sincerely try to destroy our inner demons and upheld the good in us. Aap sabko Navratri ki hardik shubhkamnaye!

Thank you for sharing! 😊

This is all so interesting. I'm born in India and my mum and grandparents live there but I'm not Indian by heritage or ethnicity. I only learnt about the Indian culture and Hindu stories from watching TV shows. Totally fascinating! 😊

Every festival has a different meaning in different parts of India😊 The underlying concept though is mostly good overcoming evil both internal and external.. How I miss those days.. Happy Navrathri to you all😃
