I doubt it's Malik as he has been discharged from the hospital only now. If you observe his hand is in bandage and uses crutch to walk. I think it cannot be him. It is hard to walk all the way there , aim and shoot at this condition. I am sure he will be accused, but it will be someone else for sure, maybe his sister. He will accept the blame to save his sister.
