The real Mussadilal Over three weeks you have caught Pankaj Kapoor's brilliance in his portrayal as Mussadilal, now catch up with what is he has to say about the role and more. You watched Mussadilal on 'Kal Tak' fighting VAT; Mussadilal, the poultry farmer having an issue with Chickun Guniya and last week Mussadilal the barber landing in a soup with the cops for allegedly having contacts with underworld don Pappi Bhai... The man behind the mask of the barber last week, will be back next Friday with another mask, at another junction and more hilarious situatons. Before he comes back, we spoke to the man himself - Pankaj Kapoor as he tells us all about Naya Office Office. How does it feel to be back on the television screen after mesmerizing audiences in Maqbool and Dus, especially to be back as Musadilal in Naya Office Office? It feels nice. When asked by Rajiv Mehra (producer-director), I could not refuse him. Do you have a Musadilal characteristic in you? I have always felt that I am the common man. So I identify very easily with Mussadilal easily. One has to go through the trials and tribulations in life, which a common man goes through, including me! Who is your favourite character in Naya Office Office? All characters are interchangeable except the common man - Mussaddilal. There is no favourite as such. Which is the best Indian television comedy, according to you? There are a host of them... It would be unfair if I took one name. But more importantly one must realize the difference between subliminal humour and actual humour. Which television characters have you thoroughly enjoyed portraying, Karamchand Jasoos or Mussadilal? All my characters have been special for me, as each one has been given my 100 per cent. So there is no preference over the other. What are the other projects you are working on? I am working on three films as of now. One being Vishal Bharadwaj's Blue Umbrella. What do you have to say about… Mussadi Lal's office etiquette He is the common man, so he goes through the trials and tribulations a common man has to face. So in any office-setup that you would see, you will actually see a harassed Mussadilal as that's the key of the show! Mussadilal's bribe etiquette He believes in honesty and is against bribery and corruption. What will you do if you are in the position of bribing someone to get your work done? I would not do that as it encourages bureaucracy, which I am against! On that honest note, all you indya.com users - have a great week ahead, for more on Musadilal and his avatars, click here! |
