Hey all,
So I thought I'd make my own post after reading a few posts on Shyams quick confession on this forum. Not to judge anyone elses opinion but I personally feel it was the best time for his downfall.Firstly, the guy has committed several crimes (legally and morally) : fraud, GBH, kidnap/attempted murder, electricution, murder, alongside his general scheming. For more than a year he managed to fool the residents of GH and their neighbours' family, as well as the mightly Raizaidas. He sweet talked and charmed everyone to get a dream life, where yes he works as a lawyer for a few hours a day, and then gets the luxurious 5 star lifestyle. Everything was perfect.
However greed, lust, power, money and jealousy can do a lot to someone. Yes, the confession from the predator himself may have seemed sudden, but was it really?. Shyam in my mind is a lot like the strange case of Jekyll and Hyde, where one man is split in two personality extremes- good and evil. At the start Shyam finds it easier to be good or atleast pretend maybe, however with each bad deed the evil and dark Mr Hyde within, comsumes him.
Just imagine being a character like Shyam, your dark side is getting stronger each day, yet you have to act sugary sweet. For him, that was eventually a bigger burden, then becoming a murderer. Yes some of the scenes could have been shown with more accuracy, however the IPK team did a very smart thing with this current track. Firstly they showed Khushi and Arnav supporting each other as a team. Their understanding and trust of one another depeening. They showed good truimphing over evil finally (I have seen hundreds of posts shouting for Shyam to be caught out.Even I've lost count the number of times I've got angry at the screen watching IPK!ha.). Finally one of Khushi's mad plans worked!. They also showed Anjali, she who is blind and deaf to all her 'loving' husband's deeds, hearing/and seeing the truth for herself.
But mostly they made Shyam see his true Mr evil Hyde side. Even Dr.Jekyll at the end of the novel has to accept his fate, as his murderous acts and bad urges overtook him.It drove him insane. Not remorseful, or neccessarily regretful, just insane. Similarly, Shyam now has to face his evil and manic side.Yes I agree with other forum posts on why would someone as clever as Shyam confess so quickly. Wouldn't he as a lawyer present his case and twist the facts like before?.
However he's not the same Shyam that first came on our screens, or even the same one who attempted to kill Shashi. He committed the biggest of sins, he killed his own child. Effectively he killed a part of himself, the innocent and good. Therefore the end of Shyam was always nearer then we realised as viewers.
If you made it to the end thank you for reading guys, and bearing with my mini essay 😊 Have a great day.
