A few more events one could explore more deeply about Madhu and RK's life :
1) Before marriage, wasn't Madhu's life already crumbling as Trishna was always expecting sacrifices from Madhu only. Even Roma always expected sacrifices for Trishna only from Madhu.
In such a scenario, how long would one's happiness last inspite of making sacrifices all the time and still keep hearing harsh words. Life-time? I would highly doubt it. I feel it would have crumbled after a certain time. And it did crumble when Trishna told Madhu that you are the reason for everything and we would have been much better off if you were not in our life.
2) One can not really blame RK for everything whatever happened to Madhu. As someone made a comment, sometimes it did seem like she pokes her nose too much into other's life. e.g. going all out to fight for justice for Mukund, or it was too much of her caring for Mukund in the hospital including doing his shave though he had his family to take care of him, moreover his family also questioned so much of her involvment in taking care of him in the hospital too.
3) If she had married Mukund also, as this was all set, would she have remained happy? She was a simple hearted girl but his family would have just crushed her simplicity as Madhu was shown to be too simple hearted girl.
They both need each other. She needs RK as Rk is teaching her to know her real deep self and her deep potential without expecting much from her and supporting her in his own way. And RK needs her as she is pushing him to get out of his own shell and be that whole complete human being again.
