We told you all about how the Saturday 9 pm slot for Bigg Boss 6 had other channels running scared, wondering just how they would keep up the TRPs. Star Plus, has decided to play it safe by extending its popular saas-bahu sagas to the weekend. So Naitik and Akshara's parivarik romance in Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will be aired on Saturdays, for the coming month.

Producer Ranjan Shahi and lead actor Karan Mehra have confirmed the show's extended run, although Ranjan asserted that this was "not in response to the happenings on any other channel". But the person who is happiest about the weekend episodes is undoubtedly actor Heena Khan, who plays Akshara on the show. It was double celebration for her as she brought in her birthday on Wednesday, the day the extension was announced.
