Some of you might have seen my post of Sept 21 about the need to restore the original repeat of the regular 8 pm show of Arjun on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 pm the same day, especially since the 8 pm show clashes squarely with the hugely popular KBC. .
As suggested by ValleryRose, I posted my request by e-mail to Star Plus and today I have received a positive response from them.
More important, the number of showings of Arjun over a week have now been increased to 12. The 2 new episodes on Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm, plus daily repeats of all the 12 episodes so far at 1730 hours and 23 30 hours Monday to Friday.
The midnight shows have started only this Monday, with episode 1, followed by episode 2 on Tuesday night. So anyone wanting to catch up on the older episodes can now do so easily, at least those in India. I do not know what is happening with Star Plus in the US or elsewhere.
This is most reassuring, and I hope that it is a reflection of the perception in Star Plus that Arjun is doing well in terms of viewership.
This apart, I have been reading the forum posts with interest, and I notice that many of you are far more preoccupied with a potential Arjun-Riya love angle than with Arjun's detective expertise.
But it is the latter that holds my interest, especially his keen eye for minute details and his deductive talent - as when he finds out at once that the dead nurse in episode 3 was a leftie. Rathore is no slouch at deductive reasoning himself - in the 130 crores robbery case, he realises immediately that Dinesh is being blackmailed thru the kidnapping of his wife and child - but he does not perceive tiny clues as readily as Arjun does.
This TV serial is of course not the same thing as the all time classic of detective fiction, but at times Arjun reminds me of Sherlock Holmes, who was also a very reticent and unsociable character!
As for Arjun and Riya, I am sure he will fall in love with her eventually, but it is bound to take a long while (provided the series does well and lasts!). Right now, he is all raw and bleeding inside, and all he wants is to kill that Sikandar who murdered his Roshni. It is interesting, his wife's name, for with her passing, all the light seems to have gone out of his life.
You would hardly respect him if he forgot such a beloved wife, who was, moreover, murdered right in front of him, so easily, would you? I would not. If it takes time for Riya to get thru to him,he will be that much more worthwhile as a catch!
