Thank you for sharing this news with us, Maitrimanthan. He was truly a gifted person whose creativity shone in so many different fields, be it in front of or behind the camera, in film, on stage, or on paper. Though his loss is a great one for the industry, thanks to your recent blog entry, we do know that his last years were spent with loved ones rather than in isolation and that he remained active for much of that time. That in itself is a blessing, and I'm certain he's in good hands now. I pray that God continues to be merciful unto him, that his family has the strength to go on, and that the members of the artistic fields as well as the audiences he gave so much of his life to will always remember and be grateful for his contributions - I certainly will. RIP.

For me, the fondest memories of his talent in Ramayan will always be of the Bharat Milaap sequence, when he moderates the clash between Bharat's devotion and Ram's duty with the wisdom of a seer. The character's identity as a "raj-rishi" was conveyed brilliantly through that scene, and a great deal of the credit for that goes to his very balanced and powerful performance.
