Actually, docs should be the ones answering this one...but it's okay...anyone can answer based on whatever knowledge they have...

Since Ashu's right hand is not injured, can he actually perform the surgery with help from Nidhi...anyway suturing etc are done by the scrub...so is it technically possible...would Ashu performing the surgery with Nidhi's help be a better idea than Nidhi actually wielding the knife herself?

You got me there, Suja...KTLK mei kuch bhi hosakta hai...

But technically, his right hand is free...and he is right handed,...so can he perform the surgery with Nidhi's support...or will he keep up a running commentary while she operates...I know it is fiction...and yet, my mind boggles at the thought of surgery by someone who wouldn't have a clue...

If it were so simple, why do doctors have to go through MS before they are licensed to operate?

Nidhi is his Ardhangini! So she will be his left hand in surgery.

Voted for no. My uncle who is a senior nephrologist had a knee operation and could not stand for a while. He supervised all the major operations which required his expertise. He did not perform those operations as he could not stand but was with the team of doctors in the theater giving them instructions. In this profession being in the theater Itself is a matter of hierarchy. Anybody cannot enter OT. just like that.

😆 reminds me of the time when i had a fracture in my shoulder and tried to instruct my husband into cooking something edible...with disastrous results...am sure brain surgery is a bit more complicated than that...wonder what they plan to do...

here is a small Sanskrit poem I read about a wife... probably this explains everything about KTLK-biwi

Karyeshu Dasi, Karaneshu Manthri;
Bhojeshu Mata, Shayaneshu Rambha;
Roopeshu lakshmi, Kshamayeshu Dharitri;
Satkarma Nari, Kuladharma Patni

According to the Hindu Mythology, the six criteria of an ideal wife:

Works like a servant, Be a minister in the official encounters, Feeds like a mother, makes love like a nymph, is as beautiful as Lakshmi, and forgiving like the earth.

and I couldnt find about a husband yet... I think, that could be the reason why Ashu never takes initiative...

Just had a chat with a very good friend...he is a very senior ENT surgeon who interestingly enough follows the show...however he had not caught y'day's episode and started laughing when I told him about this...

Even an MS only permits you to perform general surgery...in order to attempt any neuorsurgery, you need to have an MCh...the question of an MBBS performing surgery is not even tenable...even with supervision and instruction from a senior surgeon...

My friend says that, despite his MS degree, there is no question of his attempting any surgery outside his chosen field of specialization i.e ENT...it is simply not possible...

The only way out would be for another neurosurgeon from the hospital or outside to perform the surgery under the supervision of Dr AShutosh...Nidhi performing the surgery is as absurd as Ashutosh performing the surgery one-handed!

Just thought I would share it with yll!
