Protesting Shutdown of Fab Perf Thread

I think this is an open forum and I am allowed to protest without my post being shut down. I am not using curse words or anything. Sarcasm is not againt the rules. Hurting mods feeling should not be a reason for shutting down a much loved thread.

I love that thread. The AF's have made me so welcome there. Beyond the AF's I have met and talked to so many fun people like noor, sim, pooja, etc., We have had great fun discussions/debates that are articulate and interesting. Some Points:

1. I feel all of us on the thread made changes based on all the recommendations made by the mods. More inclusive, less chatting etc.

2. Soapaddict whose post started the latest furore over calling Jai Walia a J--- A-- has als apologized for using a curse word.

3. I have read numerous post/reviews that use works like go--- d---- on a regular basis and these are popular posts and I have never seen a warning, and since the words are always used I am assuming a warning through PM has naver been issued. Than this feels like a case of selective persecution.

However, I don't understand why the mods could not give a warning through a PM. I guess they know best. But for a thread that usually never uses a curse word the action was pretty drastic.

I also feel the curse word issue got resolved. Soap apologized. Than another mod came in a took issue over the debate that was going on for placing a warning on open forum and whether the warning was merited. The thread was shut down because a healthy debate was going on about the warning, no curse words were being used.

The mods expressed that their feeling were hurt and they shut the thread down. I guess all us members who enjoy the thread immensely will have to suffer to pay for someone's hurt feelings. Afterall healthy debate is not allowed on this forum. I felt the members understood what the mods were saying that young children visit the forum and we should not curse, and we agreed and said no more cursing. So I cannot see the reason for the shutdown except the debate (which I think is valid and people have the right to express their opinions even if some people do not like them) hurt someone's feeling and they had the power to arbitrarily shutdown something that a lot of people feel a part of.

As you can see my feeling have been hurt too, but I am being mature and expressing my hurt and leaving it at that.

PS. Members were expressing their opinions in this thread against the shutdown (a post by maria). Mods why was it shut down

i agree moudeb2005..i dunno y the other thread was shut down..does it mean we cant express our feelings openly nemore? only cuz we might not agree with the mods..well actually it was more of a plea to reconcile we werent even bein disrespectful..i agree that was prob the first time a curse word was used on that thread n soap did apologize then what went wrong? im confused n very hurt! i wanna say much more but im sure itll be misunderstood again!

Thanks Mou for writing a proper protest. I was too frustrated to try and write one. I hope the Mods realize that we (all of the people at the AF thread) have always done our best to follow their rules and will continue to do so because we love watching the serial. Also, the AF thread was more to us than just an online "chat club". We were not even allowed to HAVE a chat club, after a while, and were required to talk only about the serial. All of us have made valuable friends there and feel hurt and scandalized that AF has been closed down again. Maybe we were too passionate about the serial or a little too eager to express our feelings (which I don't see anything wrong with) which is why we used certain words offensive to you, Mods. I apologize for those words, but I do not apologize for being a part of one of the most interesting places to discuss KS.

yeah i agree with you too...but they have to do what they have to, so i hope that changes..

oh cumon MOdz !! Again !! i wuz a silent reader foe a long period of tyme and i dint even sign up and now i finally did buh my point iz i have been following their thread since a very long tyme and i can see tht wenever u guyz requested to them to stop sumthing that they were doing... Dey LISTENED TO U GUYZ and stopped!! and nothing will proivde more proof than their previous threadz .

a) u told them not to chat - Result: they stopped chatting about irregular stuff ( altho tht wuz also quite entertaining)

b) u told them to "INCLUDE" other ppl in thier conversationz- Reuslt: They did !! i mean look @ all the other ppl who are now an exteneded part of the thread (ex. Moudeb, roops... ) Like i mean sumtymez ihz hard to include ppl who barely understadn wut the AF is discussing !!

c) u told them not to swear- Result: they said dey wouldnt ( i agree they were sarcastic - buh hey they were jsut trynna show dere anger ) and not to mention Soap alreay apologized foe saying dat...

NOW wut are they doing wrong?? - i styll dun understand the real reason behind their thread being closed !! SARCASM?? .. CHATTING?? .. NOT INCLUDING OTHER PPL ??

plz be fair to them ... i enjoy readin their thread.. it just light enjoyable reading after u return home from a longgggg day @ wurk !!

I really hope this can be resolved because I think that this is just not fair.

If mods are hurt than I think forum members who LOVE this thread are even more hurt. 😭😭

I also want to add that I have the utmost respect for Khoo and Monika but really I think this can be resolved whereby everyone is happy.

I dont agree with u guys... sorry no offence to ull but.... as far as I saw.. in AF ... there were times when the members were being rude to the mods ...so this is not good ..., mods try their best to keep this forum goin good... and its the minimum duty of all the other members to follow the rules.. I guess mods did think for a while.. before taking this step...and I dont think they did something wrong as they have to follow the rules...
Its not that u all should not share your view... they are always welcome.. but that should not be done by breaking the rules here... so just keep a note of that...I guess u all will understand this....

Thanks Square 1, We need all the silent readers to come out and express their opinions and give a fair assessment of whether AF thread adhered to the requests made by the Mods. I think so. I also agree that sarcasm and getting feeling hurt should not be a reason for a thread getting shut down. What about our the members feeling, who do not have the power like the mods do. Using sarcasm sometimes to object is a democratic process and the heart of debating/discusiion. If this is not allwed the spirit of the forum is tarnished.

There is one point, I do want to make. I understand the passion. And as I am not part of this thread or know much about it, I can comment from a different point of view. If the moderators made rules, you should try to stick to them. As lately there have been many young ones on this forum, learning from our examples. I mean it's about compromise. The moderators do work really hard for this forum, because of there passion as well. If they are supposed to follow orders from Vijay or whoever made this forum, then they have to. I'm sure they are as lenient as can be, but it's not their rules, it's rules set by another, so in order to not get this section closed, they kind of have to enforce what they were told to. I think we should appreciate the moderators and work with. You creativeness is still with you and another post can easily be open...so nothing really is lost.

and in truth lately many from other forums have been banned with a see vijay post for a curse with blanks or two...so if they are that strict..well...we are lucky we have the mods we do...
