I think it was beautiful. Even looking at it from a morality point of view ( for those who are that way inclined) She is lhis wife in the religeous sense with or without pheras etc. From the point of view of any religion be, a marriage is a verbal contract of intent in the presence of a "Being ". That is usually supported by legal documentation but it is not essential for the religious ceremony only for the social aspect. So they are married in the eyes of God.
