Part 4
Maan sigh as he fall on the sofa...his hands came up to covered his face...his eyes which were controlling his tears from a long time couldn't contain it anymore and pearls of tears started to run down his cheek. He cry escaped his throat and he started sobbing hardly taking her name in between. He was hurt, he was deeply hurt by the person whom he loved half of his life. A person, whom he had given every right on himself...if she is the one whom he loved from all his heart, she is also the one who had the master key to hurt him as badly as no one ever did, and she did right that.
He was back from the college party more early than others cause each second out there after her burst, was killing him slowly. So he rushed out back home as quickly and as quietly as he could.
"Geet..." He slipped down from the soft and sitting on his legs take her name as her curt words ring back in his mind.
~FlashBack~
Maan was hoping that today, may be today Geet will spend sometime with him. The atmosphere around was lively, From students to teachers, all were enjoying the party. Maan took hold of the drinks and turn back to go to Geet when he saw her accepting the hand of a man who was now leading her to the dance floor. Her face was constantly having that smile which she used to have when he used to be with her. Maan felt angry, his blood boiled up seeing that man putting his arms around her slender waist as her hands too came up to tie them around his neck.
The glasses in his hold were so close to get burst with the power, his was putting on them.
"Anything more Sir" the bartender who just served Maan with the soft drinks asked from his back, seeing him standing still at his place...
Maan turn to him and put the glasses back on the counter.
"Cancel this...make a vodka...strong" he said gritting his teeth and he look back at Geet who was now dancing close to that man. He was feeling like to go and punch that bas**** for keeping his hands and eyes on his girl.
"Your drink Sir" Bartender voice again distracted him and without turning, he took hold of the glass. He kept the rim of the glass on his lips and feeling rage in his body, he gulped down the liquid. His throat burned with the sensation run down in his body. He was not a alcohol type of person and he never tasted it. But right now, nothing seems to calm his down than this. When liquor doesn't seem to satisfy him for once and he ordered "One more"
The bartender looked at his with a confused expression but didn't say anything...and hand over him another drink...
Still seeing her, Maan gulped down that drink but as he saw, the man holding Geet was trying to bring his hand down towards her hip, he lost his patience and taking long steps, he stood up and take long strides to get to her.
Geet herself was feeling awkward now. She tried to move the hand of the man away from her body but his grip got tighter on her arm and other was rashly holding her waist. Tears started to build up in her eyes to think that she got herself in trouble when a hand came around her other hand and in a jerk, she was set free from those tight grasps of the man and twirl around to a corner.
She was feeling dizzy as she was standing down from the dance floor. As she got her senses back, she just hear the sound of OHHH and Ahhh's from the students watching the scene going on infront of them. Maan was beating the man out from his guts. He punched his nose with full power that his loud scream of pain easily indicated a broken bone. Maan hit his hand badly with whom he way trying to take a hold of her hip...Geet was looking at him with an open-mouth. Her best friend who never dared hit a fly, was hitting a man with so much aggression. She was sure, if it not had been for Mike and Sam, Maan would have killed him
"Dare touch her again...and i promise, you will not not see the next day of your life" Maan said in pure aggression as Mike and sam pulled him back.
Geet looked around to see everyone's eyes still fixed on Maan as he stopped, and giving a glare to that man, went out from the hall and she too make her way out.
Maan was standing in the garden. He was holding his head in his hands when Geet approached him in slow steps.
"Maan...Are you OK?" She asked in a fearing tone and in reply, Maan just nod his head.
"Why you did this Maan? In between the students and teachers...You know you can be terminated from the university on this action" She warned him.
"I don't care...Ok...I simply dont" Maan said in an irritated tone...
"But why? This has been your dream all along...to come to this university...to get these degrees...to be able to support your father" Geet asked back in an angry tone
"Because I love you Geet" Maan shouted back...looking straight in her eyes. "And If anyone dare touch you...or keep his eyes on you...they have to go through me first..." He pointed a finger at her, as off warning her to not test his patience...
Geet look back at him, dumb-folded. She doesn't know what to say and how to say for a moment. Maan eyes were digging into her body as he looked at her with passion and fierceness. When She didn't say anything, Maan took a step forward and hold her from her shoulders, pulling her towards himself
"Say something??"
"What the hell i am suppose to say here?" Geet shouted as she pushed him back.
He looked at her with hallow eyes. His mind was running furiously, and his heart was sinking with the tone she was just using
"Yeah tell me...What should i say as now-a-days, its you who decide whats good for me and what is not" Her bitter words hid him inside out. He was numb for a moment before caughting up with the situation and replied
"What are you talking about?" He asked with a confused expression now.
"Don't act smart with me Maan...I know what you planned to do and what you are planning to do now...What o you think haan, Am i a child? A baby who need to be told that this is good for you...this is gonna work better for you...Why did you play this game with me Maan? Why?" Tears started taking place in her eyes now. Her trust over her friend was loosing its color.
"Geet" Maan moved forward to wipe her tears. He can't bare them there when she raised her hand and stop him at his place
"Don't you dare come close to me Maan..." She said with those tear filled eyes.
"But what i did?" Maan asked finally when he couldn't take this anymore
Geet gave a sarcastic laugh at his quesion. "What you did...What you did is that you lied to me...You lied to me just to get me involved in this name called engagement so you can come close to me..." She raised her brow as if saying all this in a questioning tone. Maan looked at her with a bewildered expression.
"Geet...look, i can explain..." Maan tried to say when Geet took two steps back...still looking fiercely at him
"I heard you...I heard you talking to muskaan on the phone two days later when we came here. Weren't you telling her that now you are gonna make me fall in love with you Maan?...that how, when we are all alone...how easy it is for you to have me...haven't you" Maan eyes widened in horror and more terrifying he was getting when he got what she must have thought out from his words
"Geet...hold on a minute...Whatever you are thinking is..." Maan started scaryingly when Geet interrupted him in between
"Whatever i was thinking was wrong Maan...but whatever i am thinking is right...I thought that my best friend is a person with a pure heart who cares for me more than anyone...I agree on this engagement just for the reason that coming here was all your dream from such a long time...And your dream became my dream too thats why i planned to get my MBA from here...and thats why I agreed to that condition of our parents...but here...sh**" she cursed her luck when Maan move forward and hold her from her hands in a tight grip
"What the hell are you thinking Geet...I love you and that's what it is all about" Maan said in a harsh tone that scared Geet
"You love me..." Geet murmured "You love me and you weren't man enough to come to me first and confess it rather playing this stupid game..." She put finger on his chest and blamed him
"You love me and you didn't dare ask me what i think about you before deciding that I will surly fall in love with you...Is falling in love so easy Maan?" She asked in disbelief
"You love me and you didn't dare thought that when i will get to know about this gimmick, how much it will hurt me" Tears started to trace her cheek softly now. "And you say you love me..." She started crying harder now as all her energy seemed to drain away from her body. She fall down on the grass on her knees, and started crying silently. She was broken from inside. Maan heart cried out for her and he sit down beside her, trying to hug her when she said in a soft voice
"Go home Maan...I don't think i can bear having you around me right now" She said still looking away in the space infront. Tears were rolling down to her jaw bone and were dripping on her dress but she didn't care.
Maan looked at her and in defeated manner, get up...he took few steps backward as his gaze was still fixed on her face that was emotionless now and turned around to leave

Maan cried till his heart out, and he don't know when he was off to sleep still being on the carpet down.

He opened his puffy eyes in the morning with the smell of the coffee brewing on the stove. He ruffled his hairs and sit up in his position. He was clueless for a minute to realize where he was but as last night events went through his mind, he was alert.
He looked up to find a straight face Geet holding a frying spoon in her hand, looking back at her.
"Go get fresh up...breakfast is ready" She said and before he can nod or say no, she turned back on her heels and was back in the kitchen...Maan cursed himself as he get up and went to his room
Geet was frying an egg in pure anger. She got back home late in the night as Mike dropped her and getting in, seeing him sleeping in such a miserable condition, filled her heart with worry. He was a friend, she believed on more than her own life...and he broke her trust in just the worse possible way
He trapped her into a relation, she wasn't looking up...He lied to her then...He didn't try to share his feelings with her while all the way, he was the first one, she would go with any of her questions and fears. He has already decided on that she will fall in love with him without taking her consent and that hurt her the most. When she had given him the right to take decision about her life??? Thats why she was avoiding him, ignoring him that he would get the message...he will know it that she wasn't interested in him but he keep pestering her and the fight last night, was the last straw of her patience...
She put the plate having half-fried egg and two bread slices infront of him as he started eating in silence and bring the coffee for him. They both share this meal in silence for the first time they were there, but no one dare end this silence. Geet put the plates in the sink later on which was filled with water and grabbing her bag, make her way out as there car providing them lift was there.
As she said, he was expelled for two weeks from the university but he has to submit all the projects, that will be given to him in those weeks without attending the classes. He has to make his own notes and study himself. The other man, whom he beat was a senior passed on guys so no punishment was on to him
Maan get out from Principal's office with a down face. His punishment was not bothering him much more than the fact, that he hurt his best friend. He was moving around aimlessly in the ground lost in his thoughts when he struck with someone and the girl fell down due to the hit.
Coming to his senses, he look down and realize his mistake
"Oh...i am sorry...so so sorry" he said as he move forward his hand to the girl who was looking up at him with her bright kohl eyes...
"Its ok..." She hold his hand and as he applied a lil force to pull her, she was up on her feet and correct her dress.
"You OK?" Maan asked before he could turn back...
"Yeah..." The girl replied with an hesitant smile...Maan too gave a small smile and turn only to be stopped by her voice..
"Excuse me...can you please guide me to the registrar office...I need to submit my forum" The girl asked with a sly smile.
Maan turned and look back at him as he twitched his lips. "Yeah...Go straight, left turn, the first office" Maan replied showing her the directions from his hands. The girl looked at the way and look back at him with a confused look
"Would you mind to lead me??" and no matter how much Maan wanna rush off, he thought its better to provide someone a way when he was himself lost in his track and took a step ahead, escorting her to the office...
"Thank you Mr..." The girl said with a bright smile, pushing her curls back
"Maan" Maan said as he put forward his hand, still taking the steps.
"Tanya" The girl replied and shook his hand.
"New here...?" Maan asked...
"Actually NO..." Tanya replied with a smile..."I did my masters just few months back from here" She asked shocking him
"Then why are you asking me to lead you...you better know everything about this college...don't you?" Maan stopped moving ahead and looked at her with a raise brow.
"What if i say that i just need to start a conversation with you..." Tanya replied with a teasing smile that automatically made Maan smile too
"Than i will say...you are a flirt" Maan chuckle as Tanya
"Never mind when the man is handsome" She complimented him as he smile.
"Nice meeting you tanya..." Maan said with a genuinty in his tone
"Same here..." Tanya replied with a sweet smile...
"So guess I would be seeing you around here soon..." She added while grinning
"No...i am just expelled for two weeks" Maan replied with a fall face
"What can be better than that...You new here is US na...mind if i show you something around??" Tanya added as she witnessed the whole fight scene last night
Maan thought over it for a moment. As far as he knew Geet, she just don't want him around her much so its better to not bother her with his existence...so he raised his brow and put a smile on his face
"Will love too..." And thats how it all started with Maan...
