The popular telly couple will tie the knot on November 24
Karan Mehra, popular as Naitik Singhania of Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has been in a relationship with model-turned-actress Nisha Rawal (currently seen in Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki) for the past five years. After proposing to her — he had presented a promise ring on his birthday — amid much fanfare and media glare three years ago, Karan is set to say 'I do' to his sweetheart on November 24, this year. The couple, who has always been open about their relationship, is naturally excited about the wedding. An elated Karan shares his joy exclusively with TOI.
Jab they met
Karan met Nisha for the first time on the sets of Hastey Hastey (her Bollywood debut), where he worked as an assistant designer. Their friendship soon blossomed into love. The actor remembers fondly, "It was love at first sight. Nisha is a beautiful soul. She understands me totally and is a perfect life partner." On the other hand, it is his disciplined nature that attracted Nisha to Karan.
A lavish wedding
The couple will get married in Noida, Karan's hometown. The function will last for five days and will have a sangeet ceremony along with other rituals. Their engagement ceremony will take place on November 22. Says Karan, "It is going to be a five-day function in Noida. I have realised one thing — getting married on screen is easier than off it. A lot of preparations and planning go into it."
The couple is currently busy with D-day preparations.
