He stood in the storm, defying nature; defying her words. He would protect the dying leaf, just like he would protect her. No matter what came by, no matter how hard times got, he would not leave. He was soaked and drenched completely, but he did not move. She tried to reason with him, but he stood, trying to prove his reason.

'Main tumhe kuch nahi hone dunga. Chahe kitna bhi tufaan kyun na aa jae. Koi bhi baadh kyun na aa jae. Tumse pehle main khadaa rahunga. Yeh mera vaada hai. Viraat Vadhera ka vaada.'

When she got tired of trying to convince him, she walked away, shouting at him, telling him all sorts of nonsense to make him move from there. But her words had the complete opposite effect on him. Oh, he did turn. But what he said in reply to her words left her standing in the rain this time, still as a statue.

'Aakhir tum mere ho hi kaun, jo main tumhaari itni parwaah karun haan?'

'Maanvi. Main tumhaara kuch nahi lagta?'

Ever since she had found out that he loved her, she had been trying to run away from him, throwing vehement lies in between them to push him away. But suddenly, she didn't have the strength to turn away any more. His words had shattered the barrier that she had created between them. His one question had melted the ice. Because no matter how hard she tried, she could never be able to deny the fact that he meant the world to her. So she ran towards him and broke down in his arms.

'Tum mere sab kuch ho Viraat. Meri dhadkan, meri aatma, meri saansein. SAB KUCH. I LOVE YOU.'

'I love you too Maanvi.'

Well, confessions done, VirMan chatted into the night like lovebirds. They flirted and romanced, behaving like the Romeo-Juliet that they were. There was no sense of awkwardness, no hesitation from either side. Maybe because they had both been in love with each other for so long now that they were both tired of all the blushing, shying and looking away? They were with each other now. And that was all that mattered.

'Kyun na aaj hum kuch special karein?'

He was tired of the wait by now, and he wanted to finally claim his right on her. She pushed him away, the sherni finally having turned into Sharmila Tagore. They had touched before, but now it was different. He was her best friend then. But now he was (as we all can happily say) her boyfriend. But she couldn't possible say this aloud. So she blushed and looked away.

'Ab main tumhaara kya hun?'

He had to leave next morning. An urgent call from bhai ruined his chance of spending his first lovey-dovey morning with his girlfriend. So he left. Not before leaving cards, a huge 'Viraat' teddy bear and a note explaining why he had to leave. She missed him, but she knew that he had to go back someday. If their story had to move forward, the family had to be informed.

'Main tumhe bohot miss karungi Viraat.'

'Main tumhe already miss kar raha hun.'

Their nok-jhok continued (Why wouldn't it? They are VirMan afterall) with a touch of romance and a hint of possessiveness.

'Accha? Mujhse bhi zyaada tumhare liye kaun important ho gaya hai haan?'

'Lagaa na 440 watt ka jhatka!'

They fought like they did in the good old times, and this time around their reason were quite similarly different. Eariler, Maanvi used to scold Viraat for his carelessness as a devar or a brother and now she scolded him for being careless, as a boyfriend.

'Hello? Kya problem hai tumhe? Khud se kabhi yaad nahi kar sakte kya? Zaruri hai jab main tumhe message karun tabhi tum mujhe yaad karoge? Pata hai kitni der se main wait kar rahi thi.'

But well, problems for VirMan are like the bitter flavour of cocoa. Bitter, yet necessary to keep the flavor strong. This time, their problem was getting their relationship officially accepted by the family. Which, the Vadhera family, seated at their classic dining table, decided to oppose to.

'Agar Maanvi iss ghar mein aaegi, toh Vadhera khaadan ki bahu ke darje se aaegi.'

They couldn't fight for long. Not with their families. Their happiness depended on them. As long as they didn't have their family's blessings, their relationship could not possible move ahead. Their family's approval was the crux of their relationship. Without it, they could no longer be together. So they mutually decided to part ways, knowing that even though there was no way to forget each other, they would have to learn to live without each other.

'Yeh toh possible nahi hai, ki apne andar se tumhare liye jo feelings hai usey bhula dun. I'll always love you. Forever.'

'I love you too partner.'
