We finally see Pirya Ram Kapoor returning to Mumbai, bringing much needed rains from Arabian sea. The character was shown coming into her own as soon as she lands in Mumbai. I was really worried for her, the way she was thinking or should I say presuming things without knowing the truth. The mother of all presumptions was that Ram moved on that too with Ayesha her own sister, 20 years younger than him. And this guy who got married at 40 with much hesitation. Once this foundation was in place the rest of the edifice of presumptions was built pretty soon.
She was vulnerable, unsure, low in confidence. She didn't peek into Ram's life for the fear of negative feelings coming on, since she herself wanted him to move on. When confronted with the Ayesha- Ram equation, she never bothered to inquire into why this would have happened. She underestimated the value of her name and what she meant to Ram, his family and her family. Out of modesty? or lack of understanding? With respect to Ram, it was definitely lack of understanding.
She walked into a film promotion party without thinking of consequences of Ram sighting her. That was in my books the most silly act to do.
But once she set her feet in Mumbai, everything changed. Her reaction to Ram's fainting was only natural. She didn't expect such a thing and it's hard to react in a calm manner. Neither has she seen him lose consciousness before. And her pleading him to wake up for Peehu saying 'aap iss se bahut pyaar karte hain na' was one of the most well written dialogues in my opinion. In desparate times, people tend to push themselves to background and project something easily connectible and innocent. That was a touching moment.
The Priya we know can't hesitate in time of need. That's why what she did so far was many a time very 'unlike' Priya. A warm welcome to Priya Ram Kapoor the heart and soul of Ram.
PS: Peehu not getting a proper introduction of her dad - it often happens in life when the circumstances often perpetrated by us turn into a mode where many important moments just pass by as mere moments without getting enough notice. This was one.
I haven't seen the episode yet, but heard Priya did great today. Will try to add my thoughts on that when I get time.
