Film actor and popular TV anchor Sameer Kochar's recent entry in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (BALH) has had an unexpected impact on lead character Ram Kapoor's popularity. Sameer plays a suave business tycoon who has fallen in love with Priya. Sameer's character, a parallel lead, has not only worked for the show but also for Sameer who has dented Ram's popularity.
"I had no clue about the popularity of daily soap characters. As an anchor, my fan base was restricted to a set of audience that watches sports. But with BALH I am reaching out to lots of female viewers. The response is fabulous and it feels great," says Sameer who has stayed away from TV fiction for 12 years, but agreed to do the role for three reasons. "One is my association with Sony network. Two, it's an Ekta show and three, it is a popular serial," he reveals.
