Shalini, Loved your take as usual especially the part about how Arnav doesn't let Di into his relationship with Khushi. That is so on the ball. Ever since he decided that he wanted the marriage for keeps - he has been very subtle about keeping Di out of his burgeoning relationship with Khushi. A big change from the days when he'd convinced himself it was a contract marriage he'd undertaken to protect his Di.
>> I feel it was always an ASR thing to keep his family out of relationship matters. He never told his family of Lavanya, until one day when Khushi had blurted out. He always told people to keep out of his personal matters. He did agree to have la trained on Di's behest, but everytime she mentioned that he loved La, Arnav got restless and angry – because he knew that he didn't. Even back then, Anjali wasn't able to gauge Arnav's heart. She thought that if Arnav wanted a live-in with La, he loved her. that was not true. It only means that Arnav has never really shared his heart with his Di – but for Khushi, he did tell her that she is his life – but that was because he wanted to put her at rest regarding himself.
Yet, Arnav still doesn't allow people into his relationship with Khushi.
Liked how Mami (surprisingly) and NK (not so surprisingly) turned out to be the only people who knew what would do the trick with Arnav. Mami proved once again that she is a smart cookie, unlike Anjali who still assumes that if she cannot convince Chhote, it is a lost cause. Also noticed how Mami subtly said that Phati Saree has done well for the family - does it imply that she believes all of Khushi's accusations against Shyam? Till today, I assumed that she trusted Arnav to make the right decision when it came to Shyam but that she didn't quite believe that it was only Shyam at fault and not the Gupta sisters to some extent - one for leading him on and one for keeping it a secret.
>> I don't think Mami Jaan is overlooking what she heard – but as of now, she is helping the family move on. She not only knows that Khushi helped Anjali be well, but also that Arnav needs Khushi. It is very evident – that she knows Arnav needs Khushi – in the fact that she used 'losing Khushi' as a trick to get Arnav into action.
Anjali is back to her 'my bubble is intact and hence, all is well in the world' days - managing quite well to gloss over the fact that she just lost a child and that she lied and emotionally manipulated the family that loves her so much into bringing back the very husband that tried to kill off her beloved Chhote. She seems to not realize how much every member of the family is disgusted at Shyam's role playing of a doting husband. Her conversation with Arnav was cringe-worthy for what she tried to tell him. Arnav's reaction made it so clear that he would never have brought Shyam back - no matter what. She managed to even overlook that and reminded Chhote of how everything revolved around her and that she'd been saved by bringing back Shyamji? W*F, seriously! I'm not sure whether the disconnect with Anjali is intentional by the story and the script or whether the character has unintentionally been massacred. For now, I will assume the smart writers intend for her to be so self-centred and emotionally incapable of thinking beyond herself - even when it comes to her beloved brother.
>>I'm waiting to see how Anjali progresses. She is emotionally volatile right now. I'm waiting for things to settle to see how she reacts. My current opinion on her is that – I'm confused LOL.
Frankly, I thought Nani's lines about Khushi's actions proving her to be an ideal bahu a little misplaced but I forgave her because of what she said to Dadi about Arnav loving Khushi too much to break the marriage. I will assume that she meant Khushi came through for the parivaar.
>> I think Nani ji said a 'good' bahu.. not an 'ideal' one – tho I am unsure. :)
Shalini, am curious to know what you meant by they are digging a bigger pit for themselves. Is it the mind boggling action of Arnav allowing Shyam to stay in RM without any supervision or digging into his past crimes for proof - that would seriously damage his characterization. He is supposed to be way smarter than that. Forgiving Shyam once for Di can be swallowed for the sake of the story, being fooled a second time around might be beyond the audience to digest.
>> the deeper pit is 'being dug' – not they are 'digging pit for themselves' :)
The pit being the Arnav leaving Shyam's matter unresolved, and Khushi hiding the fact of Shyam's sneaky visit. Plus the past in the hands of Shyam now (as per Promo).
