The ongoing track of daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum has protagonist Sandhya helping unfold a web of terror in her town.
Neither does she enjoy political power nor does she come from an influential family. But, Sandhya shows how a common citizen can be aware, alert and sensitive enough to counter this threat.
Security cannot be achieved in isolation; it has to be a collective effort, right from the highest authorities to the common man. Sandhya shows how an aware individual can contribute back to society in the need of hour.
The norm is to show men taking on anything related to security and protection. But, Sandhya is an example to all women on how protection is not just a male domain, and how women can also play a vital role.
It is nice to see the leading show taking on something so important and that too, with a female protagonist.
