Chapter 1
"Congratulations sweetheart!" Trishna gave her younger sister a tight hug.
Madhubala smiled and hugged her sister back, "Thank you Deedo!"
"Congratulations to you to Mukund!" Trishna patted Mukund on the back and smiled at her sister and her would-to-be brother-in-law. After knowing Madhubala for about 3 months and being crazy in love with her, Mukund had finally managed to get over his fear of rejection and propose to her little sister. And knowing how shy and guarded Madhu was about her feelings, Trishna had encouraged Madhu to look at the positives and negatives of having a relationship with Mukund which had finally resulted in Madhu saying 'yes'.
Madhu smiled softly at her sister before turning her head towards Mukund and then batting her eye lashes down, almost as if to show that she was embarrassed. No, it wasn't that Mukund-Madhu had gotten engaged, but Madhu knew that her mom liked Mukund enough to say 'yes' to the wedding and Mukund's parents liked Madhu enough to say yes to Madhu being their daughter-in-law.
And her? Madhu was just happy that everyone else around her was happy. She respected Mukund and he was one of her best friends and she also knew how much he cared for her and her family, and what a perfect man he was because he cared for his family too. And she also knew that they'd be able to make the marriage work too. She also knew that Mukund would always be there with her, at every step of her life, supporting her, and giving her the right to do anything she wanted and frankly, she didn't want anything else.
Yes, Madhu had wishes to get married to Prince Charming and still did. She wanted her Prince Charming to come on a white horse and sweep her off her feet, she wanted her Prince Charming to have a big heart, be kind, be nice, be understanding, she wanted her Prince Charming to care for her, love her, be with her at every step of their lives and most importantly share all his feelings with her. But she also had to be realistic too. Her life wasn't a fairytale, and there was no Prince Charming but if she tried hard enough then, hopefully, just maybe she'd be able to accept Mukund as her Prince Charming.
This marriage, she wasn't being forced into it, and neither was it an act of convenience but it was just there, Mukund and Madhu just fit into each other's daily lives, just like their friendship had, which started 3 months ago, at a bus stop, where being pushed and pulled to all sides in the crowded Mumbai busses had told them that they'd support each other.
And today, when Mukund had proposed, saying that he could see himself spending the rest of his life with her, having a family with her, she thought she could see that happening too. Not because she was special, but it just fit'it was nothing special, not like her dreams, but it was approachable, valid.
And hence, she had said yes, because she could see her own self marrying him, and have kids eventually to start a family. Mukund made her life simple, uncomplicated, and easy to live, and her plans for her to keep working at the Beauty Saloon, have two kids, and live a worry free life like most people in Mumbai, possible. And she liked to keep it that way.
But did she love Mukund? No. Love was something she stopped dreaming off, hoping for love ago. Because love to her was passion, possession, protectiveness, the intense feeling that you were with the one and only, your soul-mate, the one God had chosen for you.
What she felt for Mukund was respect, and care. She respected Mukund and all that he did for her and her family and his own family and she cared for Mukund to not see him hurt, but she didn't love him.
"Madhu, what are you thinking?" Trishna snapped her fingers and shook Madhu away from her thoughts, away from the feeling of emptiness and confusion she felt towards this marriage, engagement, relationship with Mukund.
Mukund was perfect for Madhu, because he made her life feel safe, perfect, because she knew what kind of person Mukund was. He didn't make her take risks, didn't make her crazy.
He was a 'Follow-the-Rule-book' type of a person, just the way she hoped for in her life. She hadn't made a wrong decision by choosing him.
At least, she hoped she hadn't.
"Madhu! Are you alright? You keep going back into your thoughtful-mode!" Trishna said again, snapping Madhu back to reality.
"Haan, sorry Deedo! I am really sorry!" Madhu said, embarrassed and looked at Mukund who was confused too but at soon as he saw Madhu looking, his cheeks turned a baby pink colour, like he was blushing.
"Okay, good. I was saying, let's go talk to Mom about your proposal and get you two engaged and married soon!"
Mukund's cheeks turned redder and Madhubala just looked at Trishna and soft spoke, "Deedo'"
"Shush! Now listen to your sister and let's go!" Trishna dragged Madhu along with her while Mukund followed behind.

It was 11am and RK woke up to the morning sun blazing in his eyes. "Arggh" RK turned on his side, facing away from the sun and moved his leg and hit against a soft body part. RK opened his eyes to see a naked girl'whose name he couldn't remember'Sheila, Shilpa'Malvika'.her name was something along those lines, lying on her back, her face turned towards his chest and her hands lying under the pillow. She was spread out, almost like an eagle. The bed-covers were just below her waist, covering her lower half.
RK got up quickly, and the nausea just hit him. Great. He had been drunk like always, picked up a girl at a bar and ended up in bed with her. And he couldn't even remember it. Couldn't even remember how she had been in bed. His head hurt from all the alcohol from last night 'annoying hangover.
RK grabbed his cell phone from the night table and quickly dialed the number of his most trusted employee, Bittuji "Bittuji, come in my room right now and bring me some Asprin. NOW!"
"Arrgh!" RK grabbed his head with both his hands.
"Honey, come back to bed." The girl opened her eyes and ran her hand up till RK's chest.
"RK grabbed her hand with force and slammed it back to her.
"Don't touch me."
"But I touched you last night and you did too."
"Well woman, I don't remember last night and neither do I care about it. I was drunk and so were you. We did it. And it's not like you are the only woman I have slept with. There have been many others before you, and there will be many others after you too."
"But you told me we had something special while we were'together."
"Men say a lot of things they don't mean to get what they want. You should have been smart enough to not trust me. Your fault."
"But'"
"I don't do relationships. I am not looking for one."
"OMG, I can't believe what a jerk you are!"
"Yeah well, welcome to my world. Want to punch me? Get in line. I got what I wanted from you, a night's pleasure, and you are nothing to me. And if you are feeling like trash now, not my fault either. You are the one who laid yourself out to me. I just took what you gave me."
"You are such a '."
"Censored."
"UGH!"
"Get out. Now."
"I don't believe this!"
"Time's running out sweetheart, go."
"Can you be any more courteous?" The girl, whose name he still couldn't recall sounded annoyed and he could care less. Last night had been bliss, even though he couldn't remember it and she was creating a big fuss out of nothing, not like he was her first anyways.
"No. I don't do table manners or respect."
The girl rolled her eyes and he, RK, the big superstar was actually enjoying it. Before the girl could say anything else to him, "Leave."
The girl quickly put on her clothes, giving him a good show, and grabbed her shoes before moving towards the door, "Have you ever fallen in love?"
"No. Don't believe in love. It just makes a person weak. Plus, falling in love means spending the rest of your life with one person. My parents fell in love. Right now, they are separated. Love means heart-break and hurt, and trust me woman, I don't want that. Plus, I am too good for one girl to handle by herself."
"You are a grade-A jerk."
RK grinned. "I know that. By the way, don't forget to watch my new movie."
After the girl had left, RK thought about all the things she had asked him. Love. He didn't believe in it. He was a trouble maker, and had a new girl every night. Because he enjoyed it. Because he enjoyed being able to be with one girl one night and not worry about a strings attached relationship because they always end up hurting people.
He liked his life. He liked being able to live on the edge. He liked being able to be with girls and feel nothing for them. He didn't hate girls, no. He loved their beauty, but he didn't love them enough to spend his lifetime with one of them.
Because, they weren't worth taking the risk.

Comments will be appreciated. As you guys can guess, the FF is called 'The Forbidden Affair' and I love that title so I hope this FF can live up to the name of that title. Please 'Comment & Like' the update! Anyways, as you guys can tell, RK and MB are polar opposites, and have different variations of love. Whereas, MB believes that love is meant for 'the one' and that if you have committed yourself to one person, that's the only person you are meant to be with whereas RK has said that he 'loves' every day. *hint* ahem *hint* so how will these two meet? Keep guessing! Anyways, as you guys can guess, there isn't any 'heat' or 'passion' right now but this FF is about change, and lust and passion, everything combined but this FF is also very different from my other FF 'Mine' too. The passion/heat needs time to grow on this one because of the changing atmosphere. RK is very passionate when he wants to be. *cough*
