Hi Rima, as indicated to you in my email, I became aware of your FF yesterday and read it in one shot. To be honest when I saw a list of recommended FFs I skimed thru the authors and did not want to read another Arhi story, then I saw you name. Naturally if the quality of your posts are any indication then I thought I should at least open the FF.

You got me hook from chapter one!

Here's what stood out for me:
  • An independent Khushi who had her own business and whilst she was true to her character of taking her marriage seriously she maintained her independence and dignity.
  • Social awareness. Arnav acknowledging that Dhruvi might be drinking and driving and Hs thoughts were to protect Khushi.
  • Both Arnav and Khushi knew that they loved each other but there were too many challenges in their way.
  • Their acknowledgement of each other in the little things they did for each other everyday.
  • You gave them their Suhaag Raat but yet in a way that can easily be shown on TV without the outcry of the "modesty" folks!" Proves that you do not need to be graphic to portray love! The CVs can maybe learn from this.
  • Don't get me wrong I adore the love scenes and "graphic" does not bother me because of the culture that I belong to. But if it does then you can still have that intensity without going beyond a. Certain point.
  • Point in case their discussion at the farmhouse whereby they played the word association. That was heartwarming, loving and soulful. It is things like this that builds a solid relationship! A lasting relationship!
  • Arnav's acknowledgement of his marriage in front of the world at her baby shower! Again I cannot help but think again how unnecessary it was for the remarriage track! There were many occassions and would have been many more occassions for him to acknowledge Khushi in front of the world without the drama and stigma of their 6 month marriage without rituals!
  • Your ability to turn all the hurt Arnav brought to Khushi into new chapters where he had to reflect on the hurt he imposed on her and the reasons why he could not put her first in his life.
  • You did that without turning Arnav into a simpering fool. Instead you showed him as a man flawed by life's events and the fact that responsability thrust on someone so young can in fact make them overprotective and unable to focus on their own lives. Overprotectiveness is not healthy and instead of helping you are fact harming that person.
  • It is insightful of you to show that Khushi acknowledges Arnav's love but also his flaws and she was determine to make him aware that he needs to allow hus family to live their lives, mistakes and all, without him going into over protective mode.
  • Most of all you are redeeming Arnav and Khushi in a way that sends the right message to young and old that love alone does not conquer all! Love is important in life but to sustain a relationship you must have trust and respect for the people in your life.
  • Life is not a fairy tale! It is about day to day challenges but love, respect and honour is what brings us that fairy tale quality! The quality that s referred to as "heaven on earth!"
Rima, I am proud of you for writing this story and I am more proud to call you "friend!"
I may not be able to write comments like this everyday as your story progresses but know that these reasons are why I am reading True Colours!
Bravo my friend! 👏

Sincerely,
Maya

Awesome updates.
I never thought Arnav will come up with such an idea.
He should hav thought abt the fact that khushi can feel him.
And she would know if something was wrong with himmm.
And that's y she didnt turn up.

Chap 58
So khushi in outhouse...
I think it's both la nd nk hav helped her.
Otherwise she wont be there(if that's what has shocked arnav) without the knowledge of the other person.

Chapter 59

Arnav looked at the dupatta on the sofa-Khushi's. His heartbeat accelerated. He knew she had to be here. But Lavanaya would never admit it if she was hiding Khushi

'Di is calling you now. Go there,' Arnav said, though he was itching to ask about Khushi

'Yes ASR I will give me 10 minutes,' La said.

'No. Go now,' Arnav said in a commanding and angry voice. La looked more scared than ever.

'ASR I need ten minutes,' La protested.

'I said now' he said in his most commanding voice. All along he had kept his voice low, not willing to give Khushi any intimation of what was happening, in case she was inside.

Lavanya emerged out of the house and tried to close the door, only to be interrupted by Arnav.

'Go. I will take care of the house,' he said. La stood there a few more minutes wringing her hands and left.

Arnav strode into the house. It was very small, so he knew he did not have to search much and Khushi could not hide much if she was here.

He went into the kitchen first. That is where she always hid. But she was not there.

Slowly he headed towards the bedroom, his heart thudding. This was his last hope. Please God, Arnav said to himself, unable to believe he was praying.

He slowly pushed the door open, which was slightly ajar.

And there sleeping peacefully on the bed was his Khushi. Her beautiful face serene and as innocent as a child-immediately Arnav looked at her stomach. He had to know she had not delivered. There under the bed sheet was her baby bump.

Relief, pain, joy, sheer happiness-everything swept through him. He fell into the nearest chair, his knees buckling under the sheer exhaustion of his emotions.

And when it was Arnav, anger was not far away, but it was directed to Lavanya. He was enraged that someone he knew and trusted had betrayed him.

But he pushed aside the feeling as he walked toward the bed, He gently sat beside her. She stirred slowly. But did not wake up. In her inimitable style she clutched at her bedsheet and her hair fell on her forehead. Slowly, as if he was touching a fragile piece of glass he touched her forehead and moved away the small lock of hair.

She woke up with a start and looked around a little lost and unfocussed and suddenly her eyes focused on him. In one moment he knew she loved him just as much, because instead of anger he saw sheer happiness and immediately she tried to hide it. Yet her eyes searched every line of his face, took in every change in it'the tired lines around his eyes, the leaner face, the stubble, the bloodshot eyes'everything.

'Khushi'' he tried to hug her. But she pushed him away.

'Khushi don't do this. Do you know I have gone mad looking for you?' he said his voice breaking.

Khushi could say nothing. She could not push him away. She had dreaded this. She knew if she saw him she would forget everything-all the hurt, humiliation, pain.

Yet seeing him was like getting back her breath, her heartbeats, her very life. She had only half lived since she left him.

He did not look well. He looked tired. All she wanted to do was hug him, not ush him away. She wanted to kiss away every line of worry-but then came the anguish of his hateful words-everything he had said about her father and her.

Making herself strong she looked stoically away from him, not saying a single word.

'Khushi look at me. Say something baby. Please,' he pleaded.

Tears welled in her eyes and fell. She wished she knew what to do. But she felt helpless.

Just then they heard NK's voice in the hallway 'La. Where is Khushiji. We have to get the doctor in to check her today. Is she awake? La' and NK's footsteps came closer.

He saw the wide open door and saw Arnav with Khushi and saw Khushi's tears.

'You did it again didn't you? Made her cry. How can you do this?' NK asked furiously.

'Nanheji he did nothing,' Khushi said.

So NK was also involved, Arnav realized. He was furious. He felt like a fool. All the people he trusted had fooled him including Khushi.

Since he could not bring himself to be angry with Khushi he turned on NK in full vigor.

'How dare you do this to me. How dare you betray me,' he said angrily.

'Well it is not about you at all. It is about Khushiji. She wanted help and I gave it. Look what you have done. You have upset her. Doctor has said she may go into induced labour anytime if there is stress. She already has complication'' NK said furiously.

'What complications?" Arnav asked alarmed.

'The baby's head has not turned and this is a problem as she is just a day away from delivery,' NK said, 'And here you are upsetting her'

'She is my wife,' Arnav said

'So why didn't you take care of her properly?' N asked

'How dare you?' Arnav said

'I dare because I am her friend, her well wisher and currently her protector,' NK said.

'Don't you dare give yourself importance in her life. She is mine you got it?' Arnav said enraged.

'Stop it. Just stop it,' Khushi cried in anguish.

Just then a jolt of pain went through her womb and she screamed as she began to lose consciousness...
