Early life

Gauri Pradhan was born in Kashmir, India. Her father was a Major in the Indian Army. After he took retirement the family settled in Pune. Gauri is two of three siblings with an older brother and a younger sister and is the only one in her family to have pursued acting. Career

In 1998, she came to Mumbai to participate in Miss India Contest and reached among the finalists.Pradhan started her career with modelling, ramp work and commercials.She made her acting debut in Noorjehan, the Mughal Empress.

In October 2001 she rose to fame with the role of Gauri, in the Indian serial Kutumb.People love her pair with Hiten Tejwani, who is later turned as real life partner.

Afterwards, in 2004 she entered the serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Nandini Thakkar,she has been winning a lot of awards for her portrayal of the character Nandani .
