With Women's Day on March 8 far behind us, we couldn't quite fathom why Sony had organised Kudiyaan Bemisaal, ''a celebration of womanhood'' as they called the concert, held at the NCPA, Nariman Point, on a pouring Wednesday evening. Though, effectively, it turned out to be the theme only in the title. The event, which was a mix of song, dance and a fashion sequence featuring designer Deepika Gehani's threads, was just entertainment.

Meant to be a programme which the channel will air on August 26, it got together some of the leading women of several of its serials. Aruna Irani stole the show with her jive to Asha Bhosle's Cha cha cha... with actor Kiran Kumar. With performances from Kanchi Kaul, Neha Bamb, Himani Shivpuri, Urvashi Dholakia, Sudhanshu Pandey and Vasundhara Das, among a host of others, the show probably made up for the two-hour delay.
