Sujata awaits Ekta's reply

Actress Sujata Mehta, who plays Nimmo's mother in Star One's Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka?, has disappeared again. The Gujarati actress, who is just back from an 11-day pilgrimage from Amarnath, is completely in the dark about her current status in the serial. She is even uncertain of her return in the daily soap.
"My character started off quite well, but, after some episodes it began to get clichd. I was dissatisfied with the way my character was shaping up. This was supposed to one of the most ambitious projects of Ekta. We are all looking forward to see something other than the saas-bahu theme. I was so happy to bag a substantial role after a long time. But now I have no idea where I stand," rues Sujata. "The whole track has got a face-lift and they are now focussing on Nimmo's in-laws. I didn't receive a convincing reply from Ekta either," she adds.
"I have already made a commitment of shooting 20 days a month. What about that? I am not blaming anybody in particular but I need a reply with an explanation," she adds.
The actress, who has been involved with theatre for a long time, insists that considering her volume of work she deserves much more. Be it theatre or television, Sujata loves taking up roles which convey social messages.
However, Shailja Kejriwal, senior creative director, Star India said, "I have no clue. You have to ask Balaji Telefilms for this." Even Nivedita Basu, deputy creative director of Balaji Telefilms couldn't reply in the affirmative. "Yes, we are concentrating on Nimmo's-in-laws as of now. But whenever we called her up, Sujata was busy. There must be some problem," Basu said.
