Part 6

Khushi felt the warmth of the sun engulf her when she woke up in the morning. She snuggled closer into the pillow she was hugging. Except the pillow wasn't soft like she remembered. It was hard, but felt very comfortable and very safe. She didn't want to let go. Then she realized that the pillow was hugging her back and at this she opened her eyes and saw two dark chocolate brown eyes staring back at her with amusement. For a second, Khushi thought that her pillow had grown arms and eyes, then she realized that it wasn't a pillow she was hugging, but her husband.
Khushi sat up in bed and looked at her husband who was still lying with a smile, watching her. She looked at the bed and found no pillows. She was positive she put pillows there last night, so where were they now? She saw Arnav point to the floor behind her, and saw that all the pillows she had gotten were in a heap by the wall.
"Devi Mayya! What did I do? What happened? I knew sleeping on the bed would be a bad idea." she said to herself, not realizing she was talking out loud.
"Khushi, my dear wife, mere pillows aren't going to save me from you. You need something better. When I came to bed last night, there were no pillows and just as I was about to go to sleep, you pulled me into a tight hug and of course I didn't want to bother you so I let it go. But, thank God nothing happened." he replied with a smirk to her confused expression. "Sweetheart, you were talking out loud." he said.
Khushi could not believe what she was hearing. She would never go against what she had said. It couldn't be. Whatever it was, she wasn't going to let it get to her. She looked at him looking so smug, and thought 'In fact, I will use your techniques to make sure you lose this challenge, Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada.' she thought to herself. Without saying anything, she got up and walked to the closet to get her towel and went to take a shower. Once done, she wrapped the towel around her. She wasn't comfortable with this, but again he was her husband and she had to do this. She was glad it was a bigger towel than the ones usually used by her. This covered her to the knees which was better.
She opened the door and stepped out. She made her way to the closet and kept an eye on Arnav on the bed. She saw, when she came out in a towel, he sat up in bed. His gaze went up and down her body, lingering where the towel started and ended. She deliberately spent more time than necessary to find a sari. Once she felt enough time had passed, she took the sari and went to the bathroom again. She changed into the sari, brushed her hair and did her eyes and came out of the bathroom.
Arnav could not believe his eyes. His conservative wife, who wouldn't wear western clothes was in nothing but a towel right in front of him, looking for something to wear. His gaze went up and down her body, he never realized how beautiful she really was. He saw her take something inside with her into the bathroom and 15 minutes later, Khushi came out in a dazzling red sari with gold embroidery. He recognized it, it was the sari he had bought for her birthday. The one she said she wouldn't wear. But she was and he wouldn't have found anyone better to wear than his beautiful wife.
Arnav got up and walked towards Khushi while she walked backwards. They continued this dance until Khushi's back hit the door and Arnav was standing right in front of her. He slowly raised his hands to her shoulders and gently held her. He moved his hands to her back and grabbed her silky hair, tangling them between his fingers. He looked at her and heard her take in a sharp breath. Her breathing became irregular, beating faster, as was his. He could hear both their heartbeats beating together, as one. He slowly moved his head forward as he stared at his target: the plush, red, juicy lips. He moved closer, until her leopard were only a breath away. He could already taste her, sweet, yet feisty. He finally moved the last bit and when their lips met, explosions went off everywhere. The sparks between then were so intense, they felt and heard nothing but the other.
Khushi couldn't take it anymore. When their lips met, she moved her arms to around his neck. She had never tasted anything like this. A mix of cinnamon and man. She opened her mouth for him and their tongues met. She always heard how sparks fly and people saw fireworks when they kissed that special someone and she never knew what they met until now. The fireworks were explosions and the sparks were lighting bolts.
Arnav was surprised at what he was tasting and feeling. He had kissed many girls in his lifetime, but none had ever tasted as sweet or felt as powerful as this one kiss. She tasted sweet, like jalebi, honey and chocolate. Sweet, but deadly. He was able to smell her jasmine and lavender shampoo and it was intoxicating. When she opened her lips, he entered his tongue and explored her mouth like a man who finally found his treasure, his happiness, his Khushi.
Finally, when Arnav pulled back, Khushi held on tighter, afraid she would fall. The kiss left her breathless and she was seeing stars.
"What the hell was that?" he heard her whisper. He couldn't answer afraid she would lash out for what he did and because he didn't know himself. He took her arms and pulled them from around his neck and sat her on the bed. He looked at the clock and saw it was a perfect time to get out.
"I have to go. I'll see you in the evening." he replied and left the room.
Khushi sat on the bed after he left, still afraid to move. She felt every cell, every nerve in her body on fire, missing the close physical contact she shared with her husband just a couple seconds ago. She felt safe, cared for, protected and...loved. She couldn't do it anymore. She broke down, crying. Why did everything have to be so hard? Her heart was telling her to stay, while her brain was telling her to leave. She couldn't stay here. She decided to go visit her parents and aunt for a couple hours, to clear her head. She washed her face and went downstairs, looking for Nani. She finally found her by the mandir, getting ready for the morning pooja.
"Naniji, I was wondering if I could go visit amma and bauji for a couple hours?" she asked.
"Of course, Khushi betiya. I think it would be good for you and Anjali betiya. But is everything ok? You and Chote didn't have a fight, right?" she asked.
"Ji Naniji. No, we are fine. I just miss my parents."
"Ok, let us do the pooja and you can go after breakfast." she said as Payal and Mami came down. They finished the pooja and all sat down for breakfast. Once everybody had finished and HP and OP had cleared the table, Khushi got ready to go.
"Khushi betiya, did Chote leave?" she asked.
"Ji Naniji. He left early." Khushi replied.
"Ok, take the car, don't take an auto."
"No Naniji, it's ok." she said. "Naniji, I'm leaving." she said and left before she could stop her and make her take the car. She couldn't take the car, because if she did, the driver would tell Arnav where she went. She got an auto and sat inside. She gave the driver the place and she wanted to go and settled back. 10 minutes later, the driver stopped the rickshaw in front if the temple. Khushi paid the driver and started up the stairs.when she got to the top, she sat down by one of the columns and was lost in thought.
He had given her so much pain, how could she ever go back to him and be able to live in peace? If the roles had been reversed, he wouldn't have forgiven her, he would have kicked her out of the house. He was mean, ruthless, arrogant, selfish, stubborn... passionate... loving...
She didn't know what to do. Just thought of the living without him broke her heart, she had a hard time breathing. But thinking about living with him, froze her heart. She was afraid to risk her love again. How long before he broke it again, how long before he turned back into ASR? She couldn't do this, not knowing if he would be Arnav or ASR each day.
Arnav left early for the office. He didn't know what had come over him. Yes, he had promised to do everything to convince her he loves her and I stay, but kissing her like that wasn't what he had in mind. Now he couldn't concentrate on his work. All he thought about was the feel of her lips on his, her sweet taste and the sweet smell. He groaned in frustration and picked up his phone. He dialed Khushi's number, but no one picked up. He called again, still nothing. He called his home and HP picked up.
"HP, where is Khushi?!" he barked into the phone.
"Arnav bhaiyya. She left an hour ago. She said she was going to visit her parents." he replied.
"Ok" he replied and hung up. He tried Khushi's mobile again, but still she didn't pick up. He then tried his in-laws, the Gupta house and Khushi's buaji picked up.
"Hai Nand Kishore, who is it?" she said, half screaming into the phone.
"Buaji, it's me, Arnav." he said awkwardly. She always made him feel awkward.
"Oh damadji! How are you?" she said happily.
"I'm fine. Buaji, I called to talk to Khushi, Is she there?" he asked.
"Sanka Devi? She hasn't come here. Did she say she was coming?" she asked worriedly.
She wasn't there? But HP said she went to her parents house. She should be there by now. "She must have gone to the market. Don't worry, Buaji, I will find her." he said and disconnected the call. 'What the? Where had she gone?!' he thought. He banged his hand on his desk in anger and worry. Where had she gone? Was she ok? What if something happened to her? All these questions ran around in his head. He called Aman and told him that he had to go home and Aakash was in charge. He walked out of the building and got in his car. He started driving around Delhi and Lakshmi Nagar. But he didn't find her. He then remembered the one place where he had gone in the beginning of the marriage. The temple.
He drove down the street, zipping between cars, honking for every car, thinking as if the whole five minute trip was taking five hours. Finally he reached the temple and he parked the car. He jumped out the door as soon as he shut the car off and ran up the steps, looking around for her familiar clothing sense, her familiar silky hair, listening for her familiar clinking of her payals, the familiar sound of her earrings. He got to the top of the temple and looked around furiously, not seeing her. He took out his phone and dialed her number. He walked around the temple, listening for the familiar Salman Khan ring tone.
After a couple minutes, he finally heard a faint, yet familiar ring tone. He walked towards it, and heard the ring tone getting louder. He walked faster until he reached the ringing. He stood surprised at the sight, not knowing how to react.

So how was it? Was it actually good or crap? Plz leave ur comments and likes. They mean everything to me!!!!!!!
