The incident happened when asr was very young..at that time it is very tough for a boy to acctually analyise the situation and decide what is wrong and what is right..he may shown which forced him to think that his father was at wrong side and even there was no one to support them he and his sis were all alone and asusual..anjali was weak and arnav had to control both his sis and he himself..

And secondly many are complaining about past is very predictable and all...first of all we dont know the complete past...and mainly i found many post in the past that many were asking cvs are ruining the show by trying to show something unpredictable...and they want to see what many predicted..predicted by viewers..so if now they are watching what they thought or predicted about arnavs past..still they complaint that it is not impactfulll

it seems the pain at a very young age can't b explained..whole scene was just a seconds.
