Childhood memories are those special moments that we cherish for a lifetime. For some, childhood symbolizes struggles and tribulations and for others it is a period of leisure and pampering full of what we call 'Masti'. Many equate childhood to innocent pranks while for many others childhood is reminiscent of mommy's love, granny's emotions and errant attitude… We spoke to a few stars from both tellywood and filmdom to find out what memories do they evoke when they hear the word 'childhood'.

One television star who grew up with the same starry dreams in her eyes is Rucha Gujrati who essayed the role of Kali in the daily soap Kkusum, this young damsel started her acting career at the tender age of seven years, "I was a child artist and I have fond memories of those days. My happiest moment was when I got my first break as a child artist in a DD serial." She believes that her grand parents have played a vital part in her upbringing; "They were the ones I always turned to when my parents lost their temper on me. Expressing a similar feeling is the very talented Divya Shah. She fondly reminisces the days that she spent with her grandparents, "When it comes to childhood I always recall my nani's house," avers Rucha.

The cheerful and sweet Kanchi Kaul who plays the role of Anu in the prime time soap on Sony TV, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si has quite an experience to share with us, "I have loved mangoes all my life and I used to hate when I had to share them with my brother. Once when my brother had gone for a picnic, I took the opportunity and consumed almost 5 dozen of mangoes." Well that's quite an incident and proves that there is a mischievous side to this innocent looking girl.

Kunal Khemu who shot to fame with Kalyug reminisces his best days as those when he had won Screen Award for his role as a child artist in Zakhm at the age of 15 years. Recalling his younger days television star Varun Badola proclaims, "I had a longish childhood. I took a long time to get up and decide what I wanted from life."

On the other hand Barkha Bisht who is also the well-known Raadha of 'Pyaar Ke Do Naam, Ek Raadha, Ek Shyam' had her priorities clear and always knew that she wanted to be an actress. Recollecting her dreams Barkha says, "As a child, I always dreamt of being an actor. I used to look into the mirror and dream that I would be an actor one day. And I am so glad now that my dreams have come true."

The respectable judge on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge confesses about the notorious kid in him, "I have been a very notorious brat. As a child I used to think that car runs on water. On one occasion I filled the petrol tank of my dad's car with water. But alas, the car never ran again! Then of course I recall my dad slapping me for ruining his car. However, whenever a car that runs on water gets invented I would like to gift it to my dad," chuckles Shekhar.

Talking about naughty experiences that our tele brigade have had, Akash Deep Sehgal alas Ansh of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi does not want to be left behind, "I was like Mowgli during my younger days. I used to walk down to school and on the way there were wild fruit trees. I used to pluck and eat them everyday and as a result used to always be late for school. Once a snake passed by and I was completely frozen but thankfully it did not harm me," confesses the famous villain on small screen.

Siblings bring about fond memories of togetherness, fights, and fun all rolled into one, when one recalls his or her childhood memories. Adita Wahi who played the role of Shefali in Saarrthi and also essayed the role of Mayuri in the daily soap Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii reminisces, "I was a very naughty kid. I have 2 brothers, the older one was the leader and we had to listen to him. I recall this incident when we as a family had gone on a vacation to Kullu Manali. We were camping on the mountain top and were sternly told by our parents not to go into the valley. However being mischievous and curious we went down and to our misfortune we got stuck. Finally our parents had to call the cops to find us. We of course got a sound beating from our parents that day," chuckles the actress innocently.

But like we all know life has a dark side to it. It is not all fun and games, for many it has been a time of trauma and bitter experiences. It is a well known fact that one of the most promising actresses of the yester years, Sarika prefers not to remember her childhood days because all that comes to her mind our earth shattering times of her mother forcing her to go to the sets for shooting when she herself was keener on pursuing her studies. There are many other such stars who have had ghastly times, which they feel are better not recalled, although it becomes impossible to forget those early days of life. Like Amit Sadh of Nach Baliye fame exclaims that he has had bitter childhood memories and he would rather avoid talking about it. But nevertheless these struggles have definitely helped these celebrities to climb the ladder of success.

We definitely move ahead in life but it is these moments that we cherish which remain a part of our memories for years to come and well, now we can say that our star brigade is no different. Whether good or bad early days are days, which we cannot wipe from our minds.

hope its not posted before........
