Arnav had waited one more day and had given up all hope.

He checked himself out of the hospital for which he was a sponsor.

He had run out of ideas to trace her.

Time was running out. He hardly had 5 days to trace her before the delivery date.

The delivery date loomed large before him.

For the first time in his life he sat before the idol of Khushi's Devi Maiya.

'She believes in you even if I don't.

I am wrong many times to someone who loves you so much.

But could you just forgive me for her sake?

Could you take me to her?

I want to hold her when she goes through pain of the delivery.

Though I desperately love and want the baby, it comes second.

Selfishly I only want my Khushi. And it is for her sake I want to be there when the baby is born.

Will you help me, if Khushi is still talking to you? I know she does. Every day before bed time.

Next time she talks to you could you just make her realize that this fool loves her, misses her and can't live without her?'

Perhaps prayers are heard for their sincerity even without the faith? Things sarted moving fast in the next couple of days.

It all began with a conversation Arnav had with Karan one fine day when Karan dropped in to meet him on his return from hospital.

'Buddy you could have sent her into a panic delivery with your terrible idea, do you know?' Karan admonished Arnav.

'Yes I know,' Arnav looked away, not wanting to hear this again,'Anyway she never came'' his voice trailed off in anguish.

'Buddy did you ever consider that someone you know might have tipped her off?" Karan asked.

Startled Arnav looked at Karan, ' Is that possible? I never thought that way.' He said

'Anything is possible. Think on those angles. Knowing your wife's love for you from what I hear from Anjali she would have at least called you. Of course there is the possibility something could have happened to her like may be she delivered,' he paused as a look of pain crossed Arnavs face, 'But even then, she could have called you to ensure you are fine through someone. If a mishap has happened to her, you would have heard, because she is Mrs ASR, the wife of the most powerful man in Delhi. Come to think of it she couldn't have gotten away far without help from someone. In the 9^th month of pregnancy she can't move herself, leave alone her luggage,' Karan said.

After Karan left Arnav was lost in thoughts. The more he thought the more it seemed possible someone was helping her...someone they both knew.

Who could it be? Di? No Di would never put him through this even for Khushi.

Lavanya? No she would not do this to him. Or would she? Laanya was also a good friend of Khushi

NK? Yes he would help her. He always had a crush on his wife and was her best friend. So was it NK?

More he thought, the more suspicious he got of NK and a little of La.

He told his most trusted detectives to keep an eye on NK and report his daily activities.

NK went for a jog in the morning with La.

He then went out to meet friends and all.

But wherever he went he still came back home, which was currently Arnav's outhouse.

NK went nowhere suspicious.

Yes he did visit the medical store often. But that was it.

A woman did visit him in the outhouse sometimes. Arnav brushed it off. He had no interest in NK's love life.

His attention shifted to Lavanaya.

Her shadowing gave the same results.

Nothing suspicious

Arnav was again lost.

Now just 2 days were remaining for her delivery date.

What could he do?

And then it happened.

'Chote can you go to the outhouse and call Lavanya. She is not picking up the call.

I need her to come with me to check with some more gynecologists. You know I have been doing the rounds of all hospitals to track Khushi right?' she asked

'Yes di I know. Ok I will go. But can't you send the maid?' Arnav asked being too preoccupied with Khushi

'No chote. The maid has not turned up,' Anjali said.

When Arnav reached the outhouse, he felt a strange flutter in his heart as if he could feel Khushi.

Nonsense. He thought. This is my outhiouse, he reminded himself.

Lavanya opened the door and was surprised to see Arnav, 'Um ASR'did you want something,' she said twisting her hands.

ASR was surprised at her nervousness. Lavanaya did this only when she was tense.

'Can I come in?' he asked.

'Um no'I mean yes'um did you want something?' she asked still blocking the passage.

'No. I did not. But di wanted you to come to go to the doctors,' ASR said his eyes automatically going to the room beyond Lavanaya.

And then he noticed something that had him rooted to the spot.
