CHAPTER 21

"Doctor tell me what exactly is the matter?" Khushi asked as she entered the doctor's cabin with Rahul by her side.

"Khushi , be patient. Arnav is now normal"

"What?"

"Yeah but the shocking news is, he has lost his memory"

"What?"

"Yeah, he doesn't remember the things what happened after he became mentally unstable"

"but doctor"

"And yeah Khushi I think it would be better if we don't remind him what happened these few days. It will be stressful and may result in severe problems."

"But doctor then our marriage?"

"Oh you might have to reveal it to him, better not now. I would advice you to give him some time before you say or do something"

Arnav was talking to Anji

"Anji at least you tell me why was Khushi wearing a saree?"

"Voh bhai actually "

"Nothing Arnav I'm in a saree because I was about to go to the temple before you fell down and I thought of having a change today"

"Oh"

Rahul came in.

"He is Rahul right?" Arnav asked on seeing him.

"Yeah, you guessed it right"

"What is he doing here"

"Come on Arnav he is not the 17 year old Rahul anymore he has changed a lot" Khushi said and she moved and stood by Rahul.

Arnav did not like it a bit because eventhough he had never expressed this to her or anyone else he loved Khushi and hated to see her with someone else.

"how are you Arnav?"

"Fine. Cant you see?"

"Arnav?"

"Bhai"

"Ok I'll not be rude to him"

"Thats better"

"I think I should leave now"

"I'll come with you Rahul" Khushi said.

"Khushi stay here for some more time dear." Arnav said.

"No Arnav I will have to go now, I promise I'll be back soon. Maa and dad is coming back today"

"What uncle and aunty are not here? Then what the hell are are you doing in GH?"

"No Arnav, mom and dad went out yesterday night and I was at your place yesterday. I'm going back home today"

"Its fine then. When will you come back here?"

"I'm not coming back here today, doctor has told me that you can go back today so Anji will be with you till then. Rahul and dad will come in the evening to bring you back."

"ok"

"Anji can you come with me for a minute"

"Yes bha Khushi"

"Anji what did you just say?"

"Nothing bhai I will be back now" Anjali went out with Khushi.

"What has happened? Why is bhai behaving like this?"

"Anji, Arnav is now stable but he has lost his memory"

"What?"

"Yeah and he doesn't remember anything about our marriage. Doctor has advised me not to force him, so I'll be shifting to GH today, I'll be back once he regains his memory. You also don't tell him that"

"But Khushi"

"Anji don't worry everything will be fine, Rahul will come to pick you in the evening"

"Ok"

"we've to plan something once you return. I and Rahul will come over to RM for that"

"Ok"

"Bye take care of my husband"

"Ok bhabhi"

Khushi left. Arnav was wondering why she was going with Rahul. Jealousy started creeping up his mind.

"Anji why is Khushi so close with Rahul?"

"What Khushi and Rahul? No bhai"

"I feel so"

"That is wrong"

"better be"

"Why bhai?"

"I don't want Khushi to be with Rahul. How awkward it looks"

"Why bhai I don't feel so"

"I feel so. She needs someone better"

"Like"

"Bhai why don't You marry her?"

"What? Anji are you serious?"

"Why not bhai? It would be really nice na?"

"Yeah, it would be but what about Khushi, I don't think she loves me"

"If she loved me she would have told it when I announced my relationship with Lavanya"

"What if she loves you and did not get a chance to tell you that?"

"Then I would like her to come and tell it to me"

"Why cant you bhai?"

"I cant"

"Why? If you love her then what is the problem in telling her"

"I don't know. I want her to tell me if there is something like that and that is it. Anji no more arguments on that"

"Ok bhai, and yeah Shashi uncle was telling that they are looking for a guy for Khushi. So let them get her married off to someone else"

Arnav was shocked to hear that. But he was adamant on his decision. He wanted Khushi to come and tell it to him that she loved him. And that was just because he feared that if Khushi didn't love him then their relationship would get spoilt because of that one confession.

By about 5 pm Rahul was there to pick up Anjali and Arnav. The discharge papers were signed by shashi. Arnav went with Shashi. Anjali and Rahul were left behind.

"Rahul I've got to tell you something"

"Yeah".

"You were right"

"On what Anji?"

"Bhai loves Khushi too"

" That is great news. I told you na. I knew it from the beginning itself"

"Yeah, but he wont confess it to her. He wants her to tell him ffirst"

"Thats not done Anji. Every time it cant be just Khushi. I think we should play along this time"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what I say"

"Explain"

"I'll explain later to you n Khushi but promise me that you wont tell Khushi about Arnav's feelings for her"

"What? But why Rahul"

"That is my plan. We will have to plan along wit Shashi uncle and Garima aunty"

"I think they will surely support us"

"Yeah and we can get Arnav into confessing"

"Are you sure about it?"

" Yeah . do you believe in me?"

"Yes, of course"

"Then we will surely do it"

"I love you Rahul"

"I love you too Anji"

And they hugged each other.

Khushi was at her home. She had shifted all her things from RM back to GH. It was almost time for Arnav to be back in RM and so she and Garima were there to welcome him back.

"Arnav finally you are back"

"Yeah Khushi why did you disappear from the hospital?"

"Arnav I had important work to do here"

"More important than me?"

"Why not bhai? Uncle and aunty are busy looking for a proposal for her and today one guy had come to meet her even"

"What?"

Khushi was shocked but decided to play along when Anjali winked at her.

"Yeah Arnav I remember you had told me that you will be the one selecting a guy for me, still I think that has to be my decision"

Arnav was too shocked to respond and he just walked off to his room.

"I'll go and give him his medicines along with this so that he will sleep soon and we can plan" Anjali said.

Rahul nodded and the they went back to GH.

Anjali made sure that Arnav had taken the sleeping pills and was fast asleep before she locked the doors and went to GH.

"Hey I'm here" she announced as she went up to the living room of GH where Khushi ,Rahul, Shashi and Garima were sitting.

"And my husband?" Khushi enquired

"Bhabhi he is fast asleep after taking those pills"

"Ok fine then let us come to the point" Rahul said interrupting the best friends.

"Yeah Rahul I remember you had told me that you have some plan in mind"

"That is what I'm talking about. Uncle and Aunty I need your help"

"Of course beta, anything for Khushi"

"Ok as Anji had told Arnav we will make him believe that Khushi is getting married"

"What ? but to whom?"

"Simple question Anji, we will make him believe that she is getting married to me"

"What? You?"

"Dont worry Anji I wont marry him, I'm your bhabhi"

"Not that Khushi, I was thinking about the after effect of that"

"Anji, Khushi listen to me first"

"ok"

"We will make him believe that but actually I will be getting married to Anji"

"What? You mean I've to get married to you soon?"

"Yeah. We will hold all the rituals such as Kuldevi's pooja, Sangeet, Mehndi and Haldi in front of him. I mean all the functions except sagai, because in that we cant fool him easily. I'm damn sure he will try to stop the marriage and wont allow the pheres and will confess his love to Khushi. he will say that if he loves you truly."

"And what if he doesn't object?"

"Then I will get married to Anji without his permission"

"and even if he opposes my and Rahul's marriage and then confesses his love and then what if he objects your marriage?"

"Dont worry about that Khushi, Arnav doesn't object my decision . I'll tell him that it was my decision to get Anjali married to Rahul." Shashi said.

"Thank you so much uncle, now I think I should get my parents here. After all they would love to attend their only son's marriage"

"Hey what about your sagai?" Khushi asked.

"We will have that day after tomorrow when Arnav goes to the office"

"OMG"

"What happened Khushi?"

"I forgot to inform Aman"

"oh right"

"I'll call him"

"Hello" Aman said over the phone.

"Hey its Khushi"

"Yeah Khushi tell me"

"Actually there is bad news for you employees"

"What?"

"Arnav is now back to normal"

"Maam that is great news"

"For some of you"

"You are right"

"But the actual bad news is that he doesn't remember the things which happened after the accident"

"Does that mean?"

"Yeah he doesn't remember anything about our marriage"

"So ?"

"I don't want any of you to mention about that to him, doctor has advised that it will be better if we don't put too much pressure on him"

"Ok Khushi, I'll inform others too"

"Thanks Aman, and yeah your boss will be back tomorrow"

"Ok Khushi see you"

"Bye"

"So that problem is solved"

"Great . Next is to inform Arnav about the marriage" Rahul said.

"I'll do that after your parents arrive, wont that be perfect?"

"Yeah uncle that will be great"

" so meeting dispersed"

"Ok Anji come with me" Khushi dragged her to her room"

"What happened Khushi? you seem too excited"

"Yeah you are right. You know something today while I was taking my things out, I got Arnav's personal diary and inside that I got my photo. See"

Khushi had in her hands Arnav's black diary and also Khushi's photo which he had cut out from one in which Khushi was with her parents. Khushi looked too pretty in that photo.

Anjali didn't know how to respond to that.

"Does that mean Arnav loves me too?"

"I don't know that bhabhi. BTW did you read the diary?"

"No, I thought we could do that together."

"Give it to me" Anjali said. She didn't want Khushi to read that and then know how much Arnav loved her. She was sure Arnav would have mentioned that in his personal diary.

Khushi didn't know what was going on in Anjali's head so she gave the book to her.

"Khushi I'm sorry but it is wrong to read someone else's personal diary, be it your husband or your brother, I cant give it to you. I'm sorry" Anjali said and escaped from there while Khushi stood there gaping at her retreating form.

Oh that was super long
