What if: Shyam as a 'grey' character!

In the initial episodes, Shyams character was shown to be grey. In other words, he loves Anjali..but can't help falling for Khushi. I think they converted him to a completely black one when he tried to kill Shashi and Anjali...and now when he killed his own child. But, it would have been really nice if they tried to build the story keeping him as a grey character! It definitely been interesting and unique!
