The actor's latest commercial has him dancing to the beats of a Marathi folk song composed by Vishal-Shekhar

He may not be making his debut in Marathi films, but he's certainly going to learn a couple of tricks of that trade. Shah Rukh Khan, king of commercials, is reconfiguring his dance moves to the tune of a Marathi folk song for a biscuit commercial. His steps will be choreographed by Farah Khan, with Vishal-Shekhar composing the music. The composers, who have 'fine-tuned' other ad-films in the past, are excited about the new project, although they were a bit surprised when choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan approached them to compose music in the Marathi folk tradition.

"Most of the time, an ad is done in Hindi, and then translated to other regional languages. We've done many ad-films with Farah in the past, but this time it was different as we had to compose the song in pucca Marathi. Having lived in Mumbai for so many years, we know the essence of Marathi culture. That's why we chose the popular lavani or tamasha music and gave it a very catchy tune," says Vishal.

Shah Rukh loved the results – the lyrics and the music were a hit with not only the Farah Khan, but also with the actor, whose company, Red Chillies produced the film. "The dance steps that Farah choreographed were completely in sync with the music and Shah Rukh has done a fabulous job. This is going to be remembered for a long time for its peppy rhythm," Vishal promises.
