Even if the person in front of you is hopeless and in a lot of pain, are you strong enough to take a persons life?
Otherwise, it is a persons choice whether he wants to live life or die. In a hopeless case, where the person is in a lot of pain, it is upto him if he wants to end the pain or live. He is the one living through it, so he should be the one to decide what to do with it.
But involuntary Mercy killing is as good as murder.

Sometimes when a person is suffering from a painful incurable disease it may be more merciful to help him end his life in a dignified way . How long does a person have to be put on life supports before deciding to pull the plug and make those resources available for some other person who has more chances of survival than him?
Its not as if the resources are unlimited. Some difficult decisions need to be taken for the wider good.

i think its good. its oly when u end this life can u start all over again. and when one has reached a dead end then its better to start all over again.

If there is no chance of survival and/or the patient is in extreme pain and just wants to end it all, I think we should respect his decision.

This is a very very debatable topic both ethically and morally.
I have been told that death is not painful at all and a dying person feels nothing but peace. So in that sense, mercy killing is actually a favour to someone to is suffering so much.
But having said that, it is also not easy to take someone's life. One really really needs to be strong. The suffering person will rest in peace but what about the mercy killer? It is a very tough decision to make.
Personally, I am against mercy killing. It is not our job to decide who should live and who shouldn't, including the person under question. We can only wish for the agonised person to be granted freedom from a painful life but I don't think it is a good idea for us to give it to them. Let God decide that.

what if God takes 20---30 years or even longer to decide? A person in a vegetative state with no hopes of recovery can be "maintained" on artificial life supporting equipments in an ICU for decades. The number of beds in ICU, the life support equipment and other resources like time, money , skilled doctors would also be limited. Is it justified to deny those who have a better chance at survival because we choose to keep busy monitoring a person with no hope of survival? Its a choice that human beings make and pass on the blame to God. Is it morally right to deny the chance of care to those with who can be cured just because someone is hitched on to those limited life supporting gadgets- for years, without showing any signs or hope of recovery?
