Okay, so sorry for not updating sooner! I was really busy (as some of you may know) and college is starting again NEXT WEEK, so I'm really nervous! Thanks for bearing with me!

Chapter Twenty Nine: A new arrival

"Oh, okay bhai. Don't worry I'll tell Maanvi. Okay, bye." Viraat hanged the phone and faced Maanvi.

"Bhai called. There's important news. We have to go back to Chandigarh as soon as possible."

Maanvi nodded, "Okay. It's fine." She said softly.

"Look, Maanvi. Don't worry. We'll go to Delhi after okay?" Viraat said noticing that she was feeling down.

"Viraat, don't worry about me. I don't mind. Now let's go back before jiju calls again."

The next couple of hours were spent on the ride home, Maanvi was silent. She was thinking about everything that had happened: her parents, P.M and especially Viraat. The few days she had spent with him had been special, she couldn't stop thinking about him. What is happening to me? Why am I thinking about him in this way? She thought.

"Maanvi. Maanvi. We're here." Viraat said, taking her out of her trance.

"Ha, lets go." She got out of the car.

They entered the house where the others waited in the living room for them. Maanvi and Viraat looked at each other concerned about what was happening. Did they found out about Maanvi's mission? Maanvi gulped. She wasn't ready for this, not now.

"Bhai, is everything alright?" Viraat asked, hesitating.

Viren walked forward towards his brother, his face was completely glum. Maanvi and Viraat looked at each other in confusion. Viren stood in front of his brother and sighed.

"What do I tell you…?" He said, his tone going quieter. "Nothing is alright."

"Meaning? Is everything alright?" Viraat tumbled towards Jeevika, "Bhabhi? What's going on?" he said worriedly. Viraat looked towards his mother and Dadaji, both who had blank faces. He glanced at Swamini Bua and noticed that she too had a blank face. This was strange, he thought. Normally, Swamini Bua would be outspoken about things. So why is she quiet? Viraat was suspicious. If it was anything to do with Maanvi, Swamini Bua would be the first one to say something. After all, she would say that we lied and tarnished the reputation in some way. So why is she quiet?

"Actually –" Jeevika began to speak until she was interrupted by Viren who gave her a gesture to let him speak.

"Er, Viraat. What do I tell you? Since you and Maanvi have been gone, everything was just not normal."

"I'm not understanding bhai, will someone tell me straight?"

"Jiju, Even I'm not understanding anything. What is not normal?" Maanvi said moving towards Viren.

Suddenly, Swamini Bua started laughing. Viraat looked at her shocked, because he had never seen Swamini Bua laugh so openly like this. He stood, looking at her with his mouth wide open. Then Dadaji started laughing, with the rest of the family following. Viren stood rolling his eyes, smirking, whilst Vanshika stood near a blushing Jeevika and hugged her.

"Badi maa, What is this? You ruined the whole game!" Viren said, pulling a fake tantrum.

"What can I do Viren? The atmosphere was such that I couldn't take it anymore." Viren gave her a smile.

"Er, hello." Viraat purposely waved in front of his brother's face. He nudged Maanvi towards him before continuing, "Maanvi and I are still confused." Maanvi moved away from Viraat with a smirk.

"I'm not confused." She walked near Jeevika and hugged her. "In fact, I know everything."

"Meaning?" Viraat said, "How did you know what was going to happen? Oh god, I'm so confused." He sat down on the chair taking a deep breath.

"Okay, Okay We'll tell you." Viren said before being interrupted by an excited Maanvi.

"Jiju! Jiju! Let me tell him, please?" She pleaded to him before the red faced Viren nodded.

Maanvi sat next to Viraat and whispered something in his ears.

"What?" Viraat shot right up from the chair and galloped towards Viren. "Bhai? Is this true?" He said in excitement. "Why am I asking you? I need to hear it from the first person to get the news!" He said before taking a reply from Viren.

He walked towards Jeevika and held her hand, "Tell me bhabhi. Is this true? Am I going to be an Uncle?" He smiled happily. Jeevika blushed before nodding her head.

Viraat couldn't believe it. He was going to be an uncle. He pulled Jeevika towards him and hugged her before running towards Viren and pulling him into a tight hug.

"I can't believe it! Me and Uncle?" He shouted. Everyone joined in the celebration, hugging and congratulating Viren and Jeevika.

In the heat of the moment, Viraat got hold of Maanvi and pulled her into a tight hug. He didn't even notice when Maanvi started to protest and the family members noticed them embracing. He was lost in his own world when Viren coughed. Suddenly, Viraat remembered and pulled Maanvi away from him, clearing his throat.

Maanvi rubbed her arms, "Ouch. Is this a new Olympic game or something? Hug as tight as you can." She rolled her eyes.

"Oops." Viraat said blushing, everyone laughed.

"Well, look on the bright side. At least Viraat's face is the same colour as Jeevika's!" Viren joked leading to Jeevika nudging him.

Viraat touched his hair, a habit he had when he was feeling nervous or embarrassed: he looked at Maanvi who was occupied with rubbing her arms and then hugging Jeevika. He smiled still reeling from that hug.
