Wonder if it makes business sense to kill your golden goose that is laying golden eggs. Here the golden goose is IPK.
There is no other show in the history of television that has captured and retained viewer interest across continents, age groups and people from different walks of life. For one, viewership of SP has increased in leaps with the popularity of IPK.
Yes, I am talking of SP's treatment of IPK.
We have not seen a single IPK promo from the past four days and we all know for a fact that even if it is shown it is not frequent like the other shows. The show that has a 6.7 TRP this week has had 2 different promos shown alternately in every commercial break and the direct result is the great TRP. The promos and also the track was nothing great but still managed to catch eye balls. We have been having great tracks going from the past three weeks but no conversion in TRPs. So, you have your answer now!
IPK TRPs have not been rising and the channel is doing nothing to help but just going after a show that is already doing well and has no competition in its time slot at 9.00 pm. The other factor is that the 9.00 and 9.30 shows don't have an early repeat like IPK and so viewer's are forced to watch it the first time or catch it late in the night or early in the morning.
Why don't they ensure the long term sustenance of a show that is giving them international and diverse viewership as TRPs do matter in the long run.
I for one never watched SP before IPK and am sure there are many others like me. Please let SP know that we watch their channel only for IPK by leaving your comments in this thread.
