Please bear with me for the next few minutes and pass comments if you want.
I think I shall place my appreciation to Daljeet and Abhas for their roles and of course the CVs. Most of us would agree here that Anjali is dumb, Shyam is a creep and Dadi is being a nonsense by jumping right left and centre to wrong conclusions. I was shocked in a few episodes back at how Anjali would want to have a son like Shyam and not a girl like herself. And the way Shyam is portrayed as someone who makes a sweet face in front of some one and at the same time is cheating and leaving off his wife and is trying to take all the property of his brother in law, and makes advances to his Khushi when her husband is absent scared me. However the fact here is what they have shown us is a creeping reality show which we see around us all the time.
India is one of the last countries on earth where Dowry is a norm and as Payal said in one of the earlier episodes is a hunger that is never quenched. Violence also is something that only gets worse with time and we should never let a criminal go scot free like Arnav did. Or hide a crime as Khushi did. Or think that a man can do anything when his wife is pregnant and will be considered a misunderstanding as Dadi is now. Shyam has only very limited access to Raizada mention and with that he is already trying to harm Anjali. When he was there he tried to hurt Anjali and the child once by making her fall and instead of being happy that he is a father he was sad that Khushi is some one else's wife. No child would want a father like that.
Let us now come away from the life of fiction and to the world of reality. I am assuming all those reading are at least upper middle class or higher. Are married or going to be. Can we really say that we have not seen people like Shyam and Anjali around us. We may not have to go beyond our own close family. How many out their can say that their brother or father did not take a dowry or their husband was not given anything after marriage which was beyond the capacity of the male in question's income. How many of us have parents and brothers who will give their daughter's and sister's husband anything they demand?
So should actually appreciate IPKKND of the way it is showing us that what was done was wrong. Because the ones who give over the top gifts are the ones who end up in trouble. Those boys will not only rarely develop a backbone but are the ones who go back to the in laws for more and more.
Hope by seeing this events at least one of us will not ask their parents or brothers to give things for their husband which the husband can not afford on his own. You can ask for yourself, because you have full right. At the same time not think that a Husband is a God as the popular Dadi thinks.
Enjoy your weekend. Tolerating a crime is also a crime. Not letting a criminal face the justice system is also a crime.
