Scene in the Niwas: Basically this one has my blood boiling, but then again what doesn't about SS. Krishna, like a good husband, and good human being goes to his father to get some answers and when he finally gets them he is satisfied enough to leave SS alone and rebuff his princess. SS is a true Machiavellian, the end always justifies the means. And of course, Abhimanyu is his son. So instead of answering the question honestly, he just admits to half the accusation of him being there but as always makes him come out smelling like a rose instead of something else I wont mention here. What I dont understand is how SS could accuse Prats of turning against the family and not supporting it when it wasnt long back that she freed the entire clan from jail when they were innocent. What a short memory SS has. The first chance he gets, he has amnesia and doesn't remember the DIL who took a bullet for his son, or the one who looked after his grandson when the parents were otherwise occupied. He just knows he needs to win the election, to hell with Arushi's life or anyone else's for that matter. How would he like it if Komal was mistreated in that way, or Shakuntala? SS is not above stigmatizing his own son, so why is Krishna so ready to believe him? Maybe because a part of him is in denial. So SS squeezes out of this tight spot with a lie, and makes sure no witnesses stay to incriminate him. Plus, any son who goes against him is automatically made into a bad human being instead of a man who might just have his own set of values and may have a LOT more compassion and grace than his father. SS, how does one conceal a woman and illegitimate son on the side and then somehow escape other accusations which are actually true? But SS is a wily creature and he knows what to say and how to say it. He actually made Baba guilty for even doubting him in the first place. Can you spell the word scum?
Then when Krishna is thoroughly convinced its his wife's fault for accusing his dad unjustly, they have the most needless disagreement which sucks. Because of course, their little chat is the highlight of a long, boring episode. Prats is not at fault for telling the truth. Her only fault is not having a cell which shoots pictures in the dark, then she could have proved Pankaj was there as well as her FIL and Abhimanyu. I might add though that he looked cute as ever in this scene. (He meaning Krishna, not Pankaj.)
The scene between Kesar and Shakti was lame. They never really disagree on anything, but their relationship is so lacking in color that it's not worth seeing much. Kesar isn't too busy cleaning and cooking all day that she can't spy on her BIL and SIL, who both watched over her son for her. Nice going, Kesar.
The interaction between Prats and the man at the door was ugly to say the least. People believe what they want to believe, though there was no evidence to suggest that Arushi was ever involved. All it took was one bad event to blacken the minds of her neighbors. Pathetic. Do they not notice that Pankaj has completely left his house? Why would he have done that if he was innocent? Arushi's trying to take her life was understandable, and Pooja handled this scene well. Of course, if she had succeeded, people would have assumed the worst that she felt guilty at being exposed when the truth is she never was guilty in the first place. Prats never freaks out at all, and it is a good thing too. They were each feeling bad about the other's misery, but they should really blame SS.
Krishna calling back Prats later was nice. Sadly of course, these two are caught in the web of SS unknowingly. Well Prats knows, but she can't prove it. You have to feel bad for Krishna because he did miss all those calls and he did try to apologize but poor Prats was holding down the fort at home and it was basically mixed messages. He should have jumped on his bike and sped off to the Saxena house because he was needed there really. They should have had Prats accept his apology and played the hey hey hey music, just to save the episode from further degradation.
The scene in the Niwas was annoying. Kesar finally found her voice, but she uses it against the woman who encouraged her to find it. she has become a boring replica of Amma. Taunting Krishna who has done nothing to harm her in her entire life was not a nice thing. (Though the guy looks hot when he's upset.) Kesar's blame on Pratigya is off base as usual. If Pratigya chose not to defend Guruma, it's her choice. If she chose to stick by her sister, it's her choice again. Pratigya has more brains than anyone there, especially than Kesar and she knows right from wrong. Who is Kesar to question that. At least GD told her off for annoying Krishna because she started it. Kesar is married to a violent, temperamental man who testifies falsely on witness stands when he isn't beating people to a pulp or poisoning them during wrestling matches so what would she know about a marriage like Krishna and Pratigya's? The woman should practice what she preaches.
The final scene has no words to describe it. The man "insulted" by Pratigya chooses to turn it against the Saxena family and especially Arushi by rousing an entire community is just repulsive. Where did Karthik go in this scene, or are we going to see him tomorrow? A scene like this is what results in a small town where people are just plain backwards and easily influenced by misinformation. Had the police done their job and taken in both Arushi and Pankaj, then they would have gotten the truth out of them. They would possibly then have traced it back to Abhimanyu at least. It would have given him less time to escape. Pankaj was the one caught, but Arushi gets to go to jail? Where is the parity in that, if he was the reason charges were filed in the first place. They didn't even see the fact that for the man who is in the middle of a tryst, not a hair was out of place. Anyone could have made an anonymous phone call and framed her. We have a girl whose father is a university professor, who, as Karthik said, has trained many of the community's children into respectable positions and whose sister is a prominent lawyer and still based on the word of some "neighbor" people are ready to crucify her? It proves that people are completely fickle.
I am not totally disappointed by this track, but I wish they would throw in some UB shirts and a love scene once in a while. Some comic relief from Chandu wouldn't hurt. It could be a scene where Krishna is blowing off steam to him at night somewhere, whatever.
Star of the episode: Pratigya Singh Thakur.
