Kuchh na kaho
Kuchh bhi na kaho
Kya kehna hai, kya sunna hai
Mujhko pata hai, tunko pata hai
Samay ka yeh pal thaam sa gaya hai
Aur is pal mein koi nahin hain
Bus ek main hoon, bus ek tum ho
Khoyi sab pahechaane, khoye saare apne
Samay ki chhalni se gir gir ke
Khoye saare sapney
Aur is pal mein koi nahin hain
Bus ek main hoon, bus ek tum ho
Hum ne jab dekhey they
Sundar komal sapney
Phool sitaarey parvat badal
Sab lagtey they apney
Aur is pal mein koi nahin hain
Bus ek main hoon, bus ek tum ho
Kuchh na kaho
Kuchh bhi na kaho
Kya kehna hai, kya sunna hai
Mujhko pata hai, tunko pata hai
Samay ka yeh pal thaam sa gaya hai
Aur is pal mein koi nahin hain
Bus ek main hoon, bus ek tum ho
- (OST 1942 A Love Story)
It's the final countdown. For what? The end of Jai and Bani's marriage and relation. Yes, sorry friends, it seems we have finally reached the end of the abyss and what we are waiting for is the final jump into oblivion.
Every time Jai had spoken of ending their relation, we felt shocks going through our veins and we said to each other 'What is the duffer doing and thinking?' This time Bani has taken the initiative to end their marriage. The reasons she puts forward are pretty strong, so much so that Jai himself is unsure as how to counter her charges. But, what the heck? We want our fave couple to be together because they have both come across as humane characters, with shades of grey in the, whatever the reason might be.
I am more than 100% sure that my honeybun is definitely not after Jai's money or property. Rano had been right – this external stuff hardly matters to Bani. So this means that there is something bigger going on, prompting Bani to take this drastic step. And it's definitely not to do with Pia-Pushkar alone. Bani wouldn't take away Jai's money for P-P. No, not at all.
We all know that Ranveer was to announce at the Party that he had officially taken over the Walia Group Business and Property from Jai. But, he was unable to do so because of Bani's claim to 50% share of Jai's property and money alimony once the divorce goes through. So this means that Bani definitely knows something and is trying to protect Jai from harm. Or is it something else?
Yes, I caught the repeat once again (ok, I know, I know, I don't have any life) and I found some of today's scenes pretty powerful. Firstly, when Jigs was having a field day giving a dressing down to Bani, Jai jade tars in his eyes and he was only looking at Bani. A few days earlier, I had written that Jai will never be bothered about the money bit, it's the fact that BANI HAD ASKED FOR THE DIVORCE that will bleed him to death. And yes, I was correct. I would like to thank Jigyasa for stating it clearly in the party that Jai had tolerated the three sisters and had even alienated himself from his blood relations only because of Bani and his love for her. During that scene, Jai had absolutely no dialogue but it was so apparent that his heart was crying and that he found the entire fiasco to be unbelievable.
Coming to Bani, she was casting sweltering looks at Jigs when Jigs went on raving and ranting as to how Bani had betrayed Jai for the money and other property and that she has always been selfish to think if her own needs only. Somehow, the scene seemed to convey the fact that it was highly ironical that Jigs was accusing Bani of being money-minded and having her eyes firmly set on Jai's property when in reality, it was she who was waiting for her son to announce that he has taken over the entire Walia business and property. What hypocrisy Jigs! Just wait when the truth unfolds in front of everybody, then you will definitely have to answer to Jai and everybody else that being his sister, how you had your eyes fixed on your brother's property for so long.
So Bani has effectively burnt the last bridge with Jai by stating that THAT NIGHT has been a mistake on both their parts and that she is carrying the child because she was past the termination stage, when she realized that their consummation was just a farce and it did not make any sense, any more. So both of them has lost everything this time. Jai's loss is evident, apparent but Bani's loss is equivalent if not more. Because she is instigating her husband to hate her from the bottom of his heart so that the divorce goes through and he sets her free finally. A fierce, passionate relation is finally ending. Adieu!!! It will depend a lot on how both Bani and Jai handle each other and the situation maturely. At this moment, reconciliation is not even an option. It must have killed Bani a thousand deaths when she said that their child was a mistake because she is very angry with Pia for aborting her child. As both the lovers face each other in the pelting rain, it seems as if their entire collective life with all hopes, dreams and aspirations is being washed away along with the raindrops.
The truth must be so big that Bani doesn't part with any information with Rano either who rightly points out that Bani is actually putting everything that she possesses at stake and the game is such that she may ultimately lose. To incur the wrath and hatred of that man whose love means everything in the world is the greatest loss and Bani is well aware of this. But still she is gambling with her life, her happiness. For what? A very big question, I am sure, with an equally bigger answer.
A word of caution though. I hope Ekta doesn't abuse the friendship between Bani and Pushkar, since friendship is the most beautiful relation that makes the world go round. Yes, Bani was infatuated with Pushkar initially and it is so understandable – here, she was in a new city, working in a new place, with strangers all round, the place where she was staying was not very forthcoming about welcoming her and her sisters with open arms, and here was a guy who was treating her as an individual and a friend. Yes, she might have told Pushkar about her feelings for him at that time but it would definitely not be a very ripe time for doing so. Because Pushkar has hardly ever felt much for her apart from her being a very good friend, a good person and now his sister-in-law. We have heard Bani saying to herself that the love she feels for Jai is much important and greater than what she had ever felt for anyone and that this love was actually transcending her every other emotion. In fact, initially, when she went to the temple to pray, she asked for God's blessings for her sisters, herself and Mr. Walia, and she herself was surprised. Pushkar had never been a part of her prayers in that sense. Jai had become an ingredient of the blood coursing through her veins, so much so that she could not later differentiate between separating his welfare from those of her sisters. There will be a lot of confusion regarding Bani and Pushkar's relation and also misunderstanding, but let us leave it to that only, no romantic entanglements please, Ekta. Let some relations mean what they are effectively meant to be, and nothing more or nothing less. Only I hope that the pea-brained Pia doesn't start her personal campaign to bring her sister and her husband together. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!
So, Bani is trying to use a single stone to solve two problems – maybe, she's trying to protect Jai from something and, secondly, she is going for the divorce so that Jai doesn't keep on pursuing her from returning to his life, since she has taken a vow to hate him for causing her mother's death. Ok Bani, give the guy some breather, will ya? Come on both of you, do whatever you feel like, but please don't call THAT NIGHT a mistake – it hurts our sensibilities, you see. Over here, we are all so possessive, sensitive and emotional about that night. And you two are breaking new records in dufferism whenever it comes to that NIGHT. It was an act of love – probably, the only truth, that you both committed and whatever happens, please don't turn your back to it by calling it a mistake. Seems exciting episodes round the corner so lets wit and watch. If anything untoward happens, Ekta please remember that you have been forewarned.
Annu seems to be the only man in the Walia Household. Hope we see more action from her end.
'…
Her loveliness I never knew
Until she smiled on me.
O then I saw her eye was bright,
A well of love, a spring of light.
But now her looks are coy and cold,
To mine they ne'er reply,
And yet I cease not to behold
The love-light in her eye :
Her very frowns are fairer far
Than smiles of other maidens are.'
