2 bits I dont get

1) How does the knowledge of where P's clothes were help prove either A to be a murderer or indeed a prostitute
2) Exactly how is this sparing the TNs their imaginary izzat - the very thing motivating SS to try and keep P's mouth shut - by getting ASY to try and humiliate her
