Hey seems like u'r not watching this serial or may be just start watching recently. Let me clear this to u, "Sar Dhaki" is an evil custom only. We can't even compare it with Marriage at all. Sar dhakai is a legal way of prostitution. When a bedni do her first rai then thakurs bid on her, like in this serial sugni did a rai now thakurs bid on her then it will be sugni's decision to whom she wants to sell herself. She will get a mangalsutra and sindoor to wear but no saat phere will be done plus she has to sleep with the thakur but cannot call herself his wife,She will be his mistress only and thakur can dump her any time and then she can go to sell her self again,this will continue till the bedni is alive.

Sar dhakai has no legal sanction like marriage. She will be assumed to be Adi's mistress, and after this if Adi chooses he can leave her when he wishes. I'm sure the rituals are not exactly like a standard marriage, besides, as we have seen unmarried thakurs can do sardhakai also, does not hamper their future married life.

Thanks for clearing it up guys. I saw sindoor etc so i was confused. I knew it was a bad custom but i thought the actual ritual involved them marrying over. I still had hope that Sugni would some how get out of being a mistress by some technicality or smn

Nope unfortunately Sugni will have the same status as her mother had, this time through her own stubbornness. Well she was the last character this story had left to butcher, so now that is being done also.

Guys, even though the practice is abohrent, the fact that Aditya will put sindoor in her maang will make it such that they are together. Applying sindoor in ones maang in other shows has sealed the relationship between two people. In essence it will start to "mean something" to Sugni and it will eventually culminate into a "love" between the two of them.

No thakur don't do that.If u remember gulabia's sar dhakai scene where thakur was there to put dupatta on her head only but mangalsutra and sindoor was done by other bedni's.
