Yes, she wasn't afraid of being hurt again. She knew Rey would never do it again. Something inside of her just told her that. She strengthened her hold around his arms and closed her eyes; no longer thinking about them and their past along with future while pretending to watch the movie. For now, all she wanted to do was fall asleep while holding on to him and his mere touch.

Chapter 6

Next morning, Kriya woke up first and blushed seeing her own head resting on Rey's shoulder and Rey's on top of her. She didn't want to bother him but she had too. She lightly touched Rey's hand and pressed it. Rey soon woke up feeling the touch and smiled. Kriya sat straight on couch now and smiled back whispering a 'Good morning.'

She then looked over at Sharon and Swayam and then back at Rey. He followed her gaze and understood what she was thinking. He got up and forwarded his hand as if to get up as well and follow him. She placed her hand in his and got up. Both walked out of living room and out the back door of the house.

With all the rush, Kriya had simply forgotten the sweet feeling she used to get when she would always step out on grass in early morning with open feet. She inhaled deeply embracing the early morning atmosphere. It all felt so calm! Rey was watching her. She felt his gaze on her and turned to see him.

He replied, "You haven't changed at all." And walked up to her. She smiled, knowing that somewhere, he was right. She had changed her views on something things. But the inner her was still the same. She was still the same girl who loved nature. Still the same person who loved dance more than anything. It was her soul' her passion' That's where her life would start and end at the end of the day!

"Rey' I want to tell you something'" She started and he cut her off.

"I know what you want to say' About last night right? Don't worry' I know you're taking your time and I understand. I had been stupid to break your trust. You can have all the time. And until you are sure, Sharon and Swayam won't find out a thing. I promise." He told.

Kriya was going to say that she was ready to give them a try. But seeing the understanding of his, her level of respect for him increased. She was in a trance that she forgot to reply at all. She simply stood there rooted to the grass and giving her a peck on her forehead, he left! She watched him go but couldn't manage to take a word out of her mouth.

That afternoon, the rehearsals began. As they all knew, the competition was to begin in few days. The last of the rehearsals would be getting hectic. The whole time, Kriya tried to get Rey's attention but one person or another would keep on coming in the way, asking him a question or asking for his help in some step or another.

She was getting frustrated and tired of waiting but she didn't let it show on her face. She continued doing her warm-ups and then simply sat aside till it was time for her rehearsals. Seeing that she had some time, she decided to get out of the room and into open air.

She was about to open the main door out of the building when she crashed into a girl who looked the same age as her. She turned to her as she was looking backwards when they had crashed.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking. Forgive me." she said with her Australian accent.

Kriya recognized it immediately and replied back, "It's fine. No harm done." As soon as she finished, another person came behind her.

"There are you Tara! Listen, he didn't mean what he said. You know him better!" It was another girl. From what Kriya gathered, both of them knew each other and there was another person she was expecting to come soon' the boy they were talking about.

Tara replied to her friend fuming, "I don't care Kat. He always keeps on hurting me and then gets away with it. Not this time!"

Kat sighed and then noticed Kriya there. "Oh hello, how rude of me. I'm Katrina. Call me Kat." She said with a big, friendly smile.

Kriya replied back with equal friendliness, "Kriya Ghai."

Both the girls turned to her with shock hearing the name. Kriya took a small step back, suddenly feeling uncomfortable with the look they were giving her.

Kat almost pounced on her, "You're Kriya Ghai?!"

"Uhm, yes' Should I not be?" she asked confused at the excitement she saw in Kat.

"O-M-G! You're Kriya! The Kriya Ghai! God, you have no idea how much our teachers kept on talking about you and your contemporary! She literally would nail us down to be like you! How do you do that?!!"

Now Kriya understood. She was surprised someone would tell others about her as if an inspiration! She blushed at the compliment and replied, "Natural I suppose'"

Another interruption came and as she had expected, this time it was a guy. Hearing the footsteps, Kat turned around to see and moved inside. He slipped over the entrance and almost fell on Kriya. With all her strength, she stood firm and tried her best to not fall. The person moved back instantly and asked for forgiveness.

"I'm so sorry." He turned to Kat and almost scolded her, "What was the need to move?" She simply shrugged. He then turned his attention to Tara, "Tara, I'm sorry' I didn't mean to say that!"

"Christian, save it please. This time, a sorry isn't going to work." She turned to Kriya. "See you around." And with that, she left. Christian was about to follow when Kat pulled him back, making him loose his balance again.

"Would you stop doing that?!" he said angrily to her.

"My bad, but kill me if saving you is a sin!" Christian was confused while Kriya silently watched the friends argue with amusement.

"What?!"

Kat explained, "Look dude, she's angry right now. Really angry I mean! If you go behind her right now, her anger is just going to increase. Talk to her at night; but not now. And by the way, you have some work to do."

He understood the rest but asked, "Work?"

"Oh Christian, for Pete's sake. Are you deaf as well? Did she not just say 'a sorry is not going to work'?"

"You girls I tell! A lot of attitude!" He replied, forgetting that not one, but two girls were present right there. Both were offended.

"Excuse me?" both the girls said at the same time. He made an 'opsie' face and they immediately forgave him seeing the cute face. Kat continued, "By the way, Christian, meet Kriya Ghai. Kriya, meet Christian; my best friend. And the one that left was Tara. She's my best friend as well."

Just as Kat and Tara had reacted, he reacted the same way. "YOU-RE Kriya Ghai."

Kriya sighed. "Yes, now please' Stop giving me such a look. Makes me uncomfortable."

He asked for forgiveness, "Sorry' Just that we've heard a lot about you' Never thought we'd meet you! So what are you doing here?"

"Uhm' competition you see' I'm participating." She replied.

With that, Christian's face lit up. "Really? It'll be so good to have such a tough competitor like you!"

"I suppose all three of you are participating?" Kriya asked.

Kar shook her head. "No' Just me and Christian here participating. Tara is just tagging along."

"Oh that's nice!" She was about to continue when a voice interrupted. It was none other than Rey. He caught up to them.

"There you are Kriya. I was looking for you all over the place! Acha listen'" he stopped when Kriya kept on looking towards the other two to let him know they weren't alone. He finally looked. "Oh, uhm hey Kat and Christian. You guys are finally here!"

"Yes'! Sorry for the delay. The flights and all just got messed up. We didn't understand Hindi and it was all just'" Christian replied.

Kriya giggled and said, "It'll happen a lot here."

Rey continued, "Well the rehearsal room is right around the corner. You guys go we'll be right there."

They left without another question and Rey stayed silent till they were out of ear length. He then continued, "Sharon called on your cell. Why'd you leave it there?"

"OH! I didn't realize' Did you pick it up?" she asked as they started walking towards the end of hall-way slowly.

"No I couldn't' Others were there."

"It's okay'" she replied understanding. Definitely people would talk if he was seen picking up a participator's cell-phone. "Anyways, it must have been just her wondering about dinner. She had said she had nothing to do."

Rey nodded and both entered the room. A few were packing up as it was time for them to leave. Minutes later, only Kat, Tara, Christian and both of them were left. Vaibhavi left as well saying she was calling it a day as it was just Kriya left and Kat and Christian were supposed to simply warm-up and look into the dance-form they wanted to do for their first day.

Rey turned to Christian and Kat. "Come, I'll show you guys to the changing room." Both of them nodded and Rey turned back to Kriya who understood what he wanted to say before he could even began. Thus, she nodded and he smiled to leave.

As they exited the door, Kriya turned the player on and swayed along with the music before it picked it. It was a perfect sensational song to perform contemporary on.

She instantly thought about her and Rey and how much of it she could connect to their story! While she was in Vancouver, she would at time only cry thinking about how much she cared about him and how simply he had refused to trust her.

As the lyrics started, so did she; letting out all her pain' all her worried' those thousands of feelings which she kept hidden away in a corner of her heart' She let them all out through dance. The one and only thing she could turn to whenever in any kind of situation.

She bent herself backwards while her feet stayed firm on the floor. Hands swayed by her sides as if she was giving herself away to the air that surrounded her. The passion for dance overwhelmed through her body.

She remembered the Valentine's night. She stood up straight and bent forward now. Hands on either side of her head while one foot almost touching her head' toes pointed towards the ground.

Suddenly out of nowhere, she imagined Rey at a distance from her. A smile formed on her face as she stretched out' as if to reach for him from where she was standing. By the end of the stanza, Rey disappeared in thin air. The smile vanished from her face but then returned seeing that it was simply her imagination.

The real Rey walked in just then, oblivious to Kriya. She was in her own world while dancing. He had come alone and seeing her dance like that, he was in a trance. He could not help but walk up to her. Her back was facing him and her hand out behind her while one stayed in front of her. He slipped his hand around her waist.

She at was shivered at the touch as she hadn't expected him to be there this soon. She moved her leg down and simply waited. The proximity was making her heart beat faster as Rey pressed her body towards him. She let her hand come on top of his where it lay on her stomach. Moving their bodies together, side by side, both of them danced together as if knowing just what step to do.

He outlined her side of the face with the back of his palm while her eyes remained close as she reacted to the touch. With force, Rey turned her around and moved her even closer than before. Both of their noses almost touching. Kriya's hands instantly went behind his back due to the twirl and it now stayed firm on the back of his head.

Both of them stayed that way, forgetting about everything else. Just then, Christian and Kat walked in, changed into a different comfortable dance outfit and stayed rooted to the door seeing the closeness about them. Both of them looked at each other, wondering the same thing. What was going on between Rey and Kriya?
