KR OS: For ever and a day
The morning sunshine entered through the windows and touched the gentle skin of a girl sleeping soundly in her fianc's strong and secure arms. Yes, it was non-other than Kriya, Kriya in the arms of Rey.It was a picture perfect scene. Anyone who would have seen it would have wanted to capture it. After all, they were just meant to be together.
A moan escaped Kriya's lips, which din't goes unheard by her man. He opened his eyes and found the reason behind it. The bright morning sun outside was disturbing her princess's sleep.
He withdrew himself from Kriya's grip on his shirt, and went ahead to pull the curtains of the window. As soon as the curtains were pulled, the lines of worry vanished from Kriya's forehead and a smile appeared on her face.
Rey stood near the window and carefully observed her princess. She looked calm, serene and divine. She seemed to be as fragile as a little flower and wished that the smile on her face stuck onto it forever.
After standing there for those uncountable moments, he went ahead and placed a peck on her forehead. "Love you", he murmured and went towards the cupboard. He collected his towel and went to take a shower.
Meanwhile, the girl on the couch kept sleeping there for some more time. When her sleep was complete, she slowly opened her eyes and scanned the room. It was a blue and white room with a big portrait of Rey hanging above his bed. Some other snaps also covered the walls of the room, some his singles, some with family and friends, and rest all with Kriya.
She walked in front of one of his singles and ran her finger through it. Suddenly she saw something, something twinkling before her eyes. A little smile played on her lips as she identified that something. That 'something' was the diamond ring, which Rey had slid in her ring finger the earlier night while proposing her to be the love of his life forever.
FLASHBACK
Rey closed Kriya's eyes by his hand and guided her to an unknown place. All through the way in the drive, she was blindfold and now she had no idea of where she was. Actually, she did know a little maybe. She could feel the chilled breezes against her bare skin left by her aqua blue halter neck dress. It was surely some shore, she had guessed.
Rey made her sit on a chair and removed his hands. She slowly opened her eyes and then looked around. It was a shack near a beach lit beautifully by those old style lanterns. These gave a rustic look to the place and the wooden interiors added on to the glamour.
She looked to table in front of her. Two candles emitting light and warmth in those cute little heart shaped stands looked pretty like anything! She remembered it. She had seen those while shopping the day before.
"Hey, isn't it '" She stopped mid way when she realized that she was alone there.
"Rey, where are you?"
A voice replied from nowhere," Just coming!"
He came out seconds later with a glass of water in a tray in his hand, full waiter style! HE kept the glass before her and asked," What would you like to have today ma'am?"
"Huhh? What is this Rey?"
"Oh no m'am, Am not Rey. Am your waiter for this eve!"
Kriya could not control the smile crawling up her face. It was like a dream come true moment for her. Every romantic moment that she had imagined, stood nowhere in front of it! After all, it's not usual to see someone like Rey doing so much for a girl!
"Oh hello, Baatcutter!" he snapped her out of her dream land.
"I'm not going to stand her like this forever! Tell me what you'll have."
"Excuse me? Dare to speak like this before your customer? Should I complain to your boss for it?" she said showing fake attitude.
"Sorry M'am"
And they break into laughter.
"Okay now seriously. What will you have? My legs are paining"
"Bring whatever you like"
"Huh? Are you serious? When why did I do so much?"
"Because'.. You love me."
She placed a peck on his cheek.
"My bad luck!"
She chuckled.
"Okay. Let me bring whatever I have"
"Yeah please. But please keep it simple"
"Yes m'am!"
Saying this, he disappeared behind a curtain and returned with loads full of food. It had a variety from Indian to Mexican, and Italian to Chinese to dishes. Rey had arranged it all from the best restaurant all over the place.
They had a silent dinner and spent most of the time talking with their eyes. Their hearts understood the language of love too well.
The dinner ended with Kriya's favorite dessert, Kulfi! Her meal was never complete without it and they always ate it when together.
As the dinner ended, they both took off their shoes and went for a walk by the seashore. Kriya clung on to Rey's shirt like her dear life and rested her head on Rey's shoulders. As they walked bare footed on the sand, the gentle water waves washed their feet and each time it happened, Kriya dug her nails into Rey's skin.
She loved this feeling, this feeling of togetherness, this feeling of completeness, this unspoken feeling experienced when with your loved one.
When their feet were tired, they laid on the wet sand, Kriya's head on Rey's arm. She looked up the sky. It was all clear, just the stars twinkling up there.
She smiled seeing it. It was beautiful more beautiful than anything she had ever seen.
She reflected upon the whole day, the happenings of it, good and bad. But after a tiring day in office, some heavy argument with co-workers, an hour spent in traffic. Rey brought her to Goa to celebrate this time together.
"Kriya"
"Hmm?"
"You know I love you"
She faced him and blushed.
"Yes Rey, I know it and I love you too"
She hugged him sideways. And started singing a song completely out of blue."Te Amo Me Te Amo
Tu Chau hai tu Dhoop hai
Te Amo Me Te Amo
Tere hazaron roop hai
Koi samjha nahi
Jo Bhi bas khoob hai
Fallin so crazy in love'"
She looked direct into his eyes and made a questioning expression. He nodded. She looked deep into those eyes; they were just filled with love. She felt the warmth of that love and cuddled close to him.
"Kriya "
"Yeah"
"Please lift your head"
"uhh??"
"It's heavy yaar, my arms paining!"
Kriya looked at him with that 'are-you-serious' expression
"It really is yeah!"
"You are mad!"
She got up and sat cuddled. Rey joined her.
"Kriya"
"Now what?"
"Aare! At least look at me"
She did so.
"I want to say something"
"Hmm?"
"Not like this"
"Then?"
"Close your eyes"
"Again?"
"Yeah again!"
"Okay "
She closed her eyes.
"Can I open it now?"
"Aare wait na"
"Okay"
Rey replied after a minute.
"Okay, so now open your eyes"
"She opened her eyes and was stunned to see what was in front of her.
A heart was made out in the sand in front and inside it was written,
"MISS KRIYA GHAI,
I,REYANSH SINGHANIA,
THE EXECUTIVE HEAD OF SINGHANIA GROUP OF INDUSTRIES
WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU'"
But it was incomplete. She stood up and looked around. Rey couldn't be seen. She turned around and then missed a heartbeat. Rey was on his knees, with a ring in his hand, he continued from where he had left,
"Would like to ask, if you will like to spend the rest of your life with me. Will you be mine forever?"
Kriya was all teary eyed till now. She had been waiting for this moment since forever. And now, when this actually happened, all the rehearsed speech absolutely refused to come out of her mouth. All that she could do was to run to him and hug her dear life, Rey and utter faint words,"yes,yes,yess!!!"
Kriya came back to the present. It was indeed the best day of her whole life.
She kissed the ring on her finger and said" love you for ever and a day"
