Nia over acts, Karan sucks...

Wow... a well deserved post.. Initially i felt Virika act was a bit over the top, but then i remembered how skits are supposed to be. You are supposed to exaggerate other person's characteristics so that people can enjoy it. Its like a 3D version of a cartoon, where a particular feature of the character is overly exaggerated so that people can laugh about it.

I am more of a Virman fan, than Virika. But even I felt, Virika did a very good job. The Virika bashing was not deserved. They acted the way they were supposed to.

About the skit, can I just point out that skits aren't supposed to be a full on perfect imitation of reality.

The JeeVi version of Virman was a bit rough around the edges, but guess what, it's supposed to be like that! The whole thing was supposed to be for amusement/ for a joke, so they brought out the stereotypical aspects of Virman - i.e. Manvi's boisterousness and Virat's slightly cheeky nature. Hence why we had an over acted performance, because skits are supposed to be like that which is what makes them funny. You over emphasise the common traits of the person and that's what JeeVi did.

So in a practical sense, yes, Karan and Krystle's performance wasn't the same as the way Kushal and Nia portray Virman, but they were never supposed to portray Virman like Nishal, but show Virman through the eyes of JeeVi. So in regards to Karan 'sucking', I'm sure it's been shown numerous times that Viren can't act at all. KT's a great actor, but the purpose of the act wasn't for him to imitate Kushal but to bring his own Viren-esque flair to Virat.

And as for KD, it isn't the first time she's imitated Manvi and each time it's been overacted because that's the way Jeevika portrays Manvi's happy-go-lucky nature. Jeevika was overacting as Manvi, but again, it's for the purpose of the skit. In terms of comedy, it's generally seen as funny when an actor overacts.

In terms of Nia overacting, I mean really? Nia plays Manvi as the carefree, jovial, boisterous and loud character perfectly. We all have a friend who is borderline crazy but they completely bright up your day and that is Manvi. It's really not overacting because we all know someone like her, continually hyper with an endless amount of energy. People are so quick to label her as overacting, but it's just the way Manvi has been shown to be.

Kushal's really came a long way from the start. He's a newbie to the telly industry so obviously there should still be massive room for improvement and he is improving greatly. I'm really looking forward to see a lot more from him in the future because he really has made the character of Virat his.

Now what I really don't get is why people have to try and justify (because they never can, and it turns into world war three) their favourites by dragging the other actors through the mud. People are either for Nishal and against Kryan, or for Kryan and against Nishal. It's not about the characters any more but the actors and it's ridiculous.

I really don't get why people are trying to instigate fights across the forum. It's not necessary for everyone to conform to your point of view, so guys, bare that in mind before starting posts about X, Y and Z.

And yes, if you really believe any post to be bashing anybody: report, don't retort. By replying, what you are effectively doing is stooping down to the bashers level and in the process, making whatever justifiable argument you made void.
