Should Kushi be more of a feminist?

I used to love this show! I still like it and love it sometimes:)

It's a great effort to be modern show and as the first tv serial I have ever watched its great.

These days I just wonder.. Why does Kushi get blamed for everything? Why does she take it?
I'm not usually one to think about stuff like this. But after more than a year of watching this show it makes me wonder.

It's such a modern show which more or less depicts a modern joint family. So shouldn't such a modern show encourage the main character to stand up for herself?I just feel like anything happens anywhere and she gets blamed and she takes it. She is smart, pretty, funny and capable. So what is stopping her?I know that there is more blame and bashing waiting for her and that makes me think how is this different from the other traditional shows at this point?

I didn't know that I cared so much about feminist issues but your show was built on her spirit and his anger and how she stands up to everything that is against her value system and still retains her independence. A guy forces her to marry him for 6 months, she saves his life and he changes his mind, tells his sister and granny part of the truth but when it comes out that their wedding was not traditional(I mean they did get married in secret how traditional could it be?) they decide to kick her out, they embarrass her and basically call her his mistress in front of the whole family, until he agrees to marry her and keep her again?!!That is a woman not a toy to be bought and returned! It just bothered me.

I hope this is not what you consider bashing. For me it was just a surprise that a modern show does not show the heroine as being more feminist and capable for standing up for herself.

This is just for thought. I like your show but this is bothering me so much that I can't watch it anymore. If I am wrong and this does not show up on the forum then that's fine too.I hope the rest of the show goes well for you guys:)🤓❓

Wowww! " I didn't think that I cared much about feminist issues" you just took that line out of my head!!! 😉 After watching this shown, the way Khushi was and is being treated, it just completely woke the feminist inside me!! I HATE seeing Khushi being treated like that!

Yes, in my opinion Khushi should be a feminsit because in the situation she is? She needs to be. The whole show's been rubbing me the wrong way since that office fiasco and it just keeps on getting worse. The way ASR said that he doesn't believe in those rituals. He should have kept in mind that the woman he claims to love does and how that would make her look. In my opinion, it sounded like when a child is scolded for doing something wrong and then he says I DON'T CARE! So what ASR did yesterday by not telling the truth? Well, it was quite spineless if you ask me. Absolutely disappointing.

Like some very wise lady said yesterday ( I don't remember her name) "IPK writers are chauvinistic pigs!" that's why Khushi has had a thorough character assasination. In terms of her character sketch as well as in the drama

You're completely right! It's weird that they are trying to show something different but I dont think it's neccessarily modern, that's just ASR in my opinion and then they show a woman being treated so badly! What about Star Plus' nai soch strateg?? But if you say modern in terms of mind set then yes they are quite modern as compared to other shows. By mind set I mean they aren't narrow minded but then they aren't modern in terms of their traditions, personally I dont think that makes a person "not modern" but people do, that's why I mentioned it. I hope you understand what I am trying to convey.

Your right. I mean I just meant modern as in compared to other shows. I think.I mean the last time I watched a telly serial was ...ok I don't remember when that was!i just meant modern as in like say Kushi wants to work after marriage, no one makes a big deal out of it.The older woman in the family don't go 😲. If the couple want to go out for dinner or something the older women in the family don't go bat crap crazy:)!!! That was my impression of serials from what I remember but maybe all shows are like that now.

It's just nice to know that more people do feel that it's crazy how she just takes it.Why does he or anyone just speak the truth?!I don't want to say that it's badly written because they are all working hard and I should just appreciate their efforts(after all its not me who has put in all this effort into the serial!).

It just bothers me that a smart girl can't defend herself because she is married(or not...its quite confusing)?!!!!II mean even in very traditional families if your married then your married...how can any family say 'get out because you did not have a complete wedding even though it's legal!'?! It's mean and how can the heroine not defend herself? This is a young person's show. She is young and spirited but she just takes it as usual. This older woman says all sorts of crap about her and her upbringing and her character but she says nothing? It just bothers me and I don't know why!!!What they showed yesterday was not traditions...it was just...well...cheap.No one says that no matter how traditional they are. They either do not accept the marriage when it happens or they live with it after it happens.Yesterday was a turning point for that show and I have a feeling that it won't get better. How can a woman like Anjali say and stand all that crap that was said?Again I don't even know why I care this much!

Sorry about the long reply😉
