The show 'Saarthi' (Star Plus) will air a lavish celebration of Lord Krishna's birth over two special Janmashtami episodes tomorrow and day after. It will be marked by a special appearance by Lord Krishna (Rajesh Shringarpure)."
Producer Asit Modi explains, "Audiences will feel that they are actually participating in the bhajans, pooja and aarti. There will also be a dahi handi breaking scene by a child dressed as Krishna. Since the show is inspired by the Mahabharata, there will be a ceasefire amongst the warring Goenka family symbolising the Pandavas and Kauravas."
The celebrations will be woven in the regular story. While the rituals are on, Vishakha (Addite Shiwarkar), who plays a negative character, will be shown at a discotheque with her boyfriend as she is not religiously inclined.
Neha Devi Singh (Bhumika):
I am not particularly religious-minded. But the Janmashtami shoot was a spiritual experience and made me aware of traditions.
Addite Shiwarkar (Vishakha):
In contrast to my screen-image I am deeply religious. I perform pooja daily and am a devotee of Lord Krishna. It was sad to miss the celebrations on the sets.
