Yeh collector sahab collectorgiri kab karte hai? 😕 Pehle to kaafi sakht and strict kind of officer lag rahe the..aajkal to he is either thinking about Anandi or talking to Daadi sa or planning to go to Haridwar with Anandi, or trying to repair her roof, or relishing hot pakodas in her house..etc etc..yahan tak ki jab kaam se jaipur gaye to bhi kaam chhodke singh family ke saath hi saara time.I wonder yeh collector sahab kaam kab karte honge?🤔He is supposed to be the district collector...that too of a newly formed district!!!

Aaj kal Collector saab has become the Man Friday for the Singh family!

Secondly, when Jaitser is still being called 'village' colloquially, one can imagine kitna kaam hoga Collector sab ko!

And finally, the focus of the serial is on the relationships between characters, and not their professional responsibilities and their execution! I mean, it would hardly be drool worthy to watch Shiv engrossed in note making on files or meeting sour-faced officials on development or legal work!! Compare it to scenes of romantic awkwardness between Shiv and Anandi or his day dreams abt her - and the answer becomes obvious!!

1. They have him leaving Billaria after funeral so he can return to work while Singh family remains.

2. He is shown calling Anandi from work...so he is still working though he remains worried about her.

3. He's gazes at her picture in his office when she goes to Haridwar. But, point to be noted - he's at work not at home sipping naryal paani!

*Dixie - U cannot use this post against me! I am being a good Shivotee*

I'm so glad that CV's are focusing on the main theme of the serial instead of focusing on Shiv's work, Bhairon's work, Basant's work etc... If they showed all that it would be a real drag 🥱

gomatidj: I think you are making two faulty assumptions here --
1. that the collector only does work and has no personal life.
2. that the time spent with anandi and the singhs is frivolous.
I feel that these are both faulty.
First, a collector is a human being, and in addition to his work life ... he also has a personal life and personal time. Like everyone else, he has to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. He has to sleep. He has to go and pee five or six times a day. He has to have a social life too.
I dont see any harm if he hangs out with the singhs and has his dinner with them in the evenings -- he would have to have dinner anyway in the circuit house if not at the singhs. It is perfectly okay if he has tea and pakoras with anandi, at some point he would have to have evening tea and snacks anyway. Even in Jaipur, he had two meetings lined up... and he attended both of them... he was not present at anandi's divorce hearing or anything of the sort. In between his first meeting (which they showed him in) and his second meeting he went and released jagya from jail... that doesnt mean he is constantly hanging out with the singhs. He was not at the divorce. Even the skype call with sumitra was done early in the morning -- on his own personal time -- at maybe 7 or 8 am ... then he went to work during the normal office hours -- and the singhs went to court. Infact, he would not have seen them for the whole day, had releasing Jagya not been an issue.
He is free to do what he wants with his personal time.
His professional engagements are irrelevant to the story and IMPLIED. His job has no bearing on his role -- this is not the story of the district collector who revolutionized a district administrative process -- he is the love interest of the balika vadhu who is in the title role. His job only had relevance to bring the two of them together initially -- beyond that it would be wasting viewers' time to show him having meetings on a daily basis on matters of no concern to us -- we really dont give a damn about the roads of Jaitser or its plumbing systems.
Second, my interpretation of the tone of your original post is that you feel that these interactions with anandi and her family are frivolous in nature -- but everyone has leave time in their jobs -- and what people choose to do with their leave is their personal business and a choice made on the basis of what they perceive to be important.
If shiv has 30 days leave in a year, then how he utilizes it is his business ... if he has taken four days off to be present at anandi's mom's funeral and other related activities, that is perfectly okay.
Are we to judge him for this? Is it that doing other things with his personal time or taking leave for the singhs are 'less important' activities? I dont think this is correct.
His workload is implied. It is not that he is 24/7 not showing up at work, and playing hooky from work with anandi or her family.

yes, counting all bags of rice and wheat at their godowns, discussing money matters with munimji, all court-kacheri work; showing how the singhs sell their farm produce at dfferent markets etc. would be a real drag ...
I found myself getting agitated even when they showed anandi's adult education classes in detail day after day -- people reciting the alphabet, counting, singing poems etc. was extremely irritating.

Initially eve I felt the CVs were showing too much of his personal and too little of his professional side.

When I thought about it showing the details of professional side involves a lot of back ground research that requires a lot time and energy.

BV creative team though very good they really are not good with their background research and this was very evident in Jagya gauri medical college scenes hospital scenes which were very shoddy.

So it's better if they don't show too many scenes involving his professional side.

While doctors are used to seeing shoddy hospital scenes collectors may not take it lightly.

So it is better if they stick to Shivraj Shekhar's love life which is definitely more interesting.
