Hello readers!!! I am Karan Mehra whom people know as Naitik from Star Plus' show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

I was born on 10 September 1982 in Jalandhar. I have changed five schools. I have lived in many cities like Jalandar, Chandigarh, Ahmadabad and Noida.

Before acting happened to me, I did fashion designing from the National School of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi after which I worked as a designer for four years in Noida. While my dad is in the construction business, my mom is a housewife. They knew about my ambitions when I left everything and came to Mumbai in 1994. They are very supportive of me.

I never thought I will get into acting. After coming to Mumbai, I started assisting directors like Ram Gopal Varma and Rajkumar Hirani. I also worked with Jimmy Shergill. I also played a small role in Love Story 2050 as Harman Baweja's friend. I have done many ad campaigns for Tata Indicom, Pantaloons, 7UP and the recent ones I did are for VIP bags with Shahid Kapoor and Hotspot mobile store. After that I started modeling that helped me a lot. I did my acting course from Kishore Namit Kapoor Institute.

After a lot of hard work, I got my first television break as the main lead role of Naitik Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. It's been four years now that I am playing this role and I am glad that everybody still likes me.

Enough about work…let's talk about my personal life now. Well… I am a very simple kind of a person. I like to spend time with my girlfriend Nisha Rawal. It's been five years of our relationship now. In my free time I like to travel, watch movies. Yes, these days Nisha and I are learning to play guitar.

My best moment of life is when I proposed to Nisha and also when my show was constantly at the No. 1 position for nine months.
