Karan Grover
TV actor

"Being a part of a male pageant (last year) didn't help me in my acting career, as it's only the winners who benefit. I was a finalist and didn't win it."

Lima > When there are so many prime time serials happening, why did you opt to do an afternoons soap? Are they popular? What sort of response have you received?
Karan Grover > Frankly speaking, I opted to do a soap irrespective of its timings because a script like the one in Saarrthi was not worth missing out on. Afternoon soaps are popular and I have received a very positive response.

Siaa > Hi There. Which serial do you come on? I am from Spain so just curious....
Karan Grover > Hi, I am doing a serial called Saarrthi .

Dreams > How did taking part in a pageant help in your efforts to become an actor? Did it really help at all?
Karan Grover > It didn't help at all.

Imli > Hi Karan. Nice to see you here! I don't get to watch the afternoon serials. Please tell us something about the serial and your role in it?
Karan Grover > It is the 21st century Mahabharat and I play (Modern)Arjun in it. The difference is that instead of a chariot there is a Mercedes.

Dreams > Karan, that's strange. Most pageant winners/finalist/participants say that winning a pageant really help further their career. Why didn't it help you? Do you think that you wasted your time by taking part in it? You sound bitter about the whole experience.
Karan Grover > I enjoyed the experience, no doubt about it. But I did not win it. And if you observe, it helps the winners (only). No, I have not wasted my time by taking part in it. It was a wonderful experience.

Enigma > What are your upcoming projects?
Karan Grover > As of now nothing because Saarrthi takes most of my time.

Gigs > With an engineering diploma under your belt, didn't you want to go for a corporate kind of job?
Karan Grover > I failed in the final year. And that made me realise, I was not a good engineer.

Hima > Hey Karan, you have rugged looks. would you like to do bike boys roles like the one in (movie) Dhoom ?
Karan Grover > Yeah, why not. Only if am playing John's role..

Kali > Do you harbour Bollywood dreams? Any offers yet? Is that your ultimate destination - Hindi cinema?
Karan Grover > Yes, I do. No offers yet. And I do believe that my ultimate destination is the Hindi cinema.

Jfsgfs > Would you leave Saarrthi if an offer to do one of the popular prime time serials or a movie comes your way?
Karan Grover > Not as of now. I would try and adjust the time and manage both.

Foodie > What are your interests/hobbies?
Karan Grover > I like working out and play tennis whenever I get the time. I also like to watch a lot of movies.

Jigs > What sort of roles would you like to do in a Hindi film?
Karan Grover > Everything from Sholay to BLACK .

Rachna > How did you bag the role of "Arjun" in Saarrthi ?
Karan Grover > Through a general audition.

Jigs > Do you consider yourself a typical Hindi film hero material? Would you do a negative role and carve your niche in it?
Karan Grover > Yes, I consider myself as a Hindi film hero material. Yes, I would do negative roles.

Hima > Do you still model? Have you done any music videos?
Karan Grover > I do model but I haven't done any music videos.

Kali > When is your birthday?
Karan Grover > 22nd of June.

Sonali > How close are you in nature to your onscreen character "Arjun" in real life?
Karan Grover > Not at all close. I am not as emotional as "Arjun" I am not that sensitive and I am not that much of joint family person.

Rima > How do you think that you can face the tough competition from so many TV stars today? Isn't there the fear of getting lost in the crowd?
Karan Grover > There is always a fear of getting lost in any profession that you do. So, what I believe in is do your job with utmost sincerity, focus and determination and you don't need to bother about the rest because it's anyways not in your hands.

Sign Off Message > It was indeed a pleasure talking to all of you. Do let me know your comments on my performance. Love, Karan.
