PART 3
"Manvi" exclaimed Shashank.
Shashank and Manvi met in college. They were close friends and Shashank was head over heels in love with her. However he never told her his feelings as she had never shown any interest. He was on cloud nine today. She was here! What else did he need? He decided that he will tell her his feelings. He was just so darn happy.
Virat was mad at whoever this intruder was. Just as Manvi was about to put her hand in his someone had called her. He turned back to lash out at the intruder and he saw a guy smiling widely at Manvi and waving his hands like a fool.
As soon as Manvi saw Shashank she smiled widely. She could not believe he was here. It had been almost a year since she had seen him last. He looked exactly the same. She got out of the car and walked towards him.
"Shashank? What are you doing here? How are you? Where were you all this time? I missed you yar!" Manvi said enthusiastically. Virat who was behind her stiffened hearing her say that she missed him. Oh so she missed this clown! Virat was now infuriated.
Shanshank smiled at Manvi's enthusiasm but little did he know that she thought of him as just a friend. "Manvi manvi relax! Slow down MY girl. I am here for Seema's party. What about you? You know seema?"
From the corner of her eyes Manvi noticed Virat stiffen at "my girl" part. So he is jealous! But she was well aware of Virat's anger and she did not want to risk her poor friend's life so she answered politely " Yeah I am here for Seema's party too. Actually I don't know Seema. I am here with Virat." She said pointing towards Virat. She further added "Virat knows Seema, they are school friends. I just came here with him you know to give him company, he is my best friend."
Hearing this Virat wanted to do a little balle balle step. He flashed a smile at Manvi, came forward and stood close to her.
It was now Shashank's turn to be infuriated. He could not bear to see some other guy so close to his Manvi.
Both Virat and Shashank shook hands glaring at one another both silently warning the other to back off.
Manvi noticed the tension between them so she quickly said "guys lets go inside."
Before Shashank could say anything Virat grabbed her waist, pulled her closer to his side and said "Lets."
Manvi was blushing from their sudden proximity and she was secretly pleased with Virat's possessiveness. Though she knew this was not appropriate and that she should stay away from Virat she explained herself Di has told me to not leave Virat's side at the party so I have to stay with him.
Virat too was thrilled. Manvi was so close to him. Without thinking he pulled her towards him but she did not object and now she was not even paying attention to the clown. In fact she was busy blushing and trying to calm herself. Okay so I affect her. She is blushing and her eyes are lowered!!!
Shashank on the other hand wanted to bury Virat and take Manvi away. He was her best friend but that does not mean she has to stick to him. Wait a minute is she blushing? No he would not lose his love. He would not allow Virat to take away his love, he would do anything.
The three of them entered the party. Though Virat left his hold on Manvi but he did not leave her side. He took her with him, wherever he went and she gladly obliged. Now Virat was sure that Manvi too has feelings for him. May be not as deep as his but she did have feelings for him. I can live with that thought Virat.
Virat did not want to waste a second. He wanted to tell Manvi about his feelings right away. He could not wait any longer. He quickly took Manvi's hand and pulled her towards the balcony.
Manvi did not know how to react. She did not know why he pulled her towards the balcony. She was annoyed at him for doing that. What if someone had seen him do that? What would they think? Irritated she asked "what is this Virat? Why did you pull me? What will people think?"
Virat put his index finger on her lips asking her to quiet down. "Manvi I don't care what people think all I care about is what you think."
"Matlab?" (meaning) questioned Manvi.
"Matlab yeh ki Manvi" Virat moved closer to Manvi, his eyes never leaving hers, his hands holding hers. "Manvi I'. I have feelings for you. I don't know since when I just know that I do. Manvi'"
Manvi jerked his hands away. "Virat this was a VERY bad joke. Just because I teased you in the car today DOES NOT mean you make fun out of me" screamed Manvi.
Manvi knew that he was not joking. She wanted to say that she loves him too as much as he does. But she can't do this to him. She had already led him on, not anymore. She would do everything to keep him away from the darkness in her life. Even if it killed her in the process she would not take him down with her. She used everything she had in her to turn her face away from him.
Virat was beyond shocked. He just confessed his feelings and she dismissed it claiming that he was joking. He was enraged. He wanted to shout at her, shout that he loves her and that he is nothing without her. He wanted to scream that with her even darkness without feel like sunshine, with her by his side even pain could give him immense happiness. Just as he was about to speak Shashank came in the balcony looking for Manvi.
All Shashank saw was Manvi in tears. He knew Virat must have done something. Glaring at Virat he walked towards Manvi. Just then manvi held his hands "Shashank lets just go." Both left the balcony leaving Virat alone.
Virat was more hurt now. She left with shashank leaving him alone! How could she do that to him. Didn't he mean anything at all. Okay maybe she didn't love him but weren't they partners? She was his best friend and he hers but she left him.
Sorry partner. I know I hurt you but this is nothing compared to the pain you would suffer if you had stayed with me. I can't give you so much pain partner, I love you. You are my everything and my heart will be yours, forever thought Manvi.
As soon as Manvi and Shashank were out of the balcony, Manvi left Shashank's hand.
Seema saw Manvi and went towards her. The three of them started chatting but Manvi was lost in her own thoughts.
The girls there were swooning over Virat. They were all over him. Virat on the other hand did not bother to even look at anyone. When someone hugged him he would hug them back, he stood there lost in his own thoughts.
Enter Tanya- Virat's best friend in college who secretly loved Virat.
"Virat. I am so excited to meet you. I cannot believe you are here!" saying this Tanya hugged Virat. Virat who was lost in his own thoughts and just went with the flow. He too hugged her back.
Manvi who was silently watching this was jealous beyond limit. Manvi she hugged him so he had to hug her back otherwise it would be rude.While Manvi was trying to calm herself down, Tanya asked Virat to join her in the dance floor.
Virat did not care where he went and with whom as long as he did not have to watch Shashank and Manvi. So Virat went with Tanya.
Tanya was ecstatic. She had come to this party to win Virat's love and here he was dancig with her. She slowly took his hands and put it on her waist while she put hers on his shoulder and his neck. Tanya was in a bliss to notice that Virat was not into her. In fact he did not even realize that she was cuddled so close to him. His eyes were only looking at one person and his heart too was already hers. She was standing there with shanshank by her side, her eyes lowered. He could not look at her anymore. It hurt way too much. He turned his attention to whoever was in front of him. It was Tanya! When did she come? Virat was surprised to see Tanya there and he realized how close they were. Tanya was hugging him, her head on his chest, her hands on his neck and his shoulder and his hands on her waist. What the hell thought Virat. He gripped Tanya's shoulders and tried to get her off him but she would not budge. She kept clinging to him and it now looked like he was pulling her closer. No matter how much he was hurt he could not do this to Manvi. Manvi right where is she Virat looked around frantically searching for Manvi. She was nowhere around Shashank was also missing.
Virat hated himself for leaving her even though she was the one that left him. He was suddenly worried about her health. He pushed Tanya away not caring about anything. He left the party without any word to anyone looking for his life, his Manvi.
Manvi was heartbroken to see Virat all cuddled up with that girl. He was holding her and she was hugging him. How could he do that to her? Didn't he tell her that he had feelings for her just a minute ago? Minutes after her rejection here he was getting cozy with some other girl. Didn't she mean anything to him? Was it just sympathy? Was he nice to her because he thought she was dying? Right then Virat grabbed the girl's shoulders bringing her closer. Manvi could not take it anymore. Her heart was broken into pieces; pieces that could never be assembled again.
She quietly left the party to cry her heart out. She did not blame Virat for anything. Honestly she was happy for him. He had moved on. Now it would be that much easier for her to stay away from him. But there was a part of her that wanted him to fight back, a part of her that wanted to be loved by the man of her dreams. A part of her died today making her feel hollow almost broken. Now she didn't care about her cancer, infact she wished it would grip her and lead her to death. She did not want to live anymore. She knew her sister would miss her immensely but jiju was there for her sister. Manvi found no reason to fight back. Manvi stopped walking as a hand around her wrist held her back.
Shashank noticed Manvi's dejected look. He noticed when she suddenly left the party. The entire time instead of paying attention to him she had been staring at Virat and burning with jealousy. Shashank needed his answers. He knew that both Virat and Manvi had a fight and he would use that to his benefit. No he would not give up on her, he would make her his. As Manvi left the party walking outside, Shashank followed her.
Slowly Manvi turned around already knowing that this hand was not Virat's. His touch made her breathless, made her heart unsteady whereas this just made her angry for stopping her. Shashank was holding her hand with determination in his face. Manvi was in no mood to talk to anyone, "Shashank what do want? Just leave me alone okay."
Virat had no idea where Manvi had taken off to. Knowing her, he knew that she must have taken an unknown path. He walked towards a road that seemed deserted as his heart told him that his where he will find her. As he walked ahead he saw two figures near a tree. He walked towards the tree. As he got closer he saw Manvi and Shashank. Just as Virat was about to walk away he saw Manvi pull her hand away from Shashank with a hint of irritation in her face. Virat decided to go closer and listen to what was going on. He did not want to spy on them but seeing Manvi react like that he did not want to leave her alone as well. He made up his mind to leave as soon as they would patch up. So he stood right behind the tree listening to their conversation.

"Shashank have you gone crazy? Why the hell are you holding my hand?" screamed Manvi pulling her hand away from his.
Shashank was taken back by her reaction. "Manvi why did you leave the party all of a sudden? What is wrong with you? All you did at the party was watch Virat cuddle up to some chick."
Manvi was fuming with anger now. "Shashank it is none of your business. I will do what I want to do, it is my life and you have no say in it. So leave me alone and stay OUT OF MY WAY" Manvi said glaring at him.
Manvi's words only confirmed his fears, she indeed like Virat. "Oh so you like that low life creep Virat huh. Please Manvi. I have known you since college. You have better choice than that." Shashank would never even confess to himself that Virat indeed was better than him in every possible way but he had to win Manvi and the only way was to show her that Virat was not worth it.
"Manvi that guy is nothing but a womanizer. All he wants is just one thing from all the women. You get that. He is just trying to use you. Trust me. He is a bas..
SLAP
Manvi had heard enough. How dare he say things about her partner. What kind of a person was Shashank! He did not even know Virat and here he was forming opinions about Virat. She felt ashamed for being friends with him. How had she not seen this side of him before? She was going to ignore it and walk away but he did not stop insulting Virat and she could not take it anymore so she slapped him hard on his cheek. She was so mad that she had tears flowing from her eyes.
Grabbing his collar she shouted "How dare you? How dare you say thing against Virat? I swear you utter one more word against him and I will kill you."
Shashank was stunned. Manvi just slepped him for VIRAT and now she was screaming at him, holding his collar.
Anger took control of him and he shouted "why do you care? Who is he to you? I will say anything I want to say about anyone. Who are you to stop me. WHAT DOES VIRAT MEAN TO YOU?"
Manvi was the one that got scared. She was not the kind that would hide her feelings. If she did not have cancer she would have told Virat about her feelings so she did not see any point in hiding the truth from Shashank.
Looking into his eyes she said "I love Virat. He is my life, my love, my everything. You hear that. I care about him because I LOVE HIM. So before you say anything against him just know that I will not take it lying down."
